For the original questioner I would agree. However, I live in an arid area and there are few trees (but many windstorms). We have had straight-line windspeeds in excess of double of what Sandy is likely to bring to most areas but of course never this kind of rain.

Actually, I was referring to the posters near the end of the “Hurricane Sandy Is Being Compared To The Worst Hurricane Ever To Hit New England” thread who feel their houses are seriously endangered.
