video at link...y now we’ve gotten the basic details of the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi — no thanks to the White House, which tried to pass it off as a “spontaneous demonstration” that “spun out of contro” for more than a week after the attack. Not too many people may have understood that the attack lasted for seven hours, however — and that American military assets were in easy reach. The last two Americans who died had managed to survive six hours into the attack.
CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson asked the obvious question yesterday: If we could fly an unarmed drone over the consulate while it was under attack, why didn’t we send the military in to rescue our people?

There was never any intention of sending a rescue - this decision right from the top.
Chris Stevens was SENT to Benghazi on direct orders from no less than the Current Occupant of the White Hut. Without a security detail, without even a personal sidearm, going into a known trouble spot, which had already previously been targeted by the same bunch of bandits.
Chris Stevens, and the three persons accompanying him, were sacrificial lambs, sent to show our “open hand” supposedly extended to indicate our “peaceful intentions”. That hand certainly got slapped away.
If a rescue HAD been mounted, it would have negated the entire thrust of this pseudo-diplomatic move, which was ONLY to demonstrate our good will, and to beg the Islamic jihadists’ forgiveness, doncha know.
Zero’s style is to lead from behind. That means taking no risks.
He’s a pro at sending in the drones but scared to death of launching helos and putting boots on the ground.
Allah forbid that something should go wrong, especially in this election season. He’d have nobody to blame it on, not even Hillary.
He and Klinton were no doubt so fearful of another Blackhawk Down that they were frozen in place. They chose to do nothing rather than launch a rescue that could have saved the life of his own ambassador!!

Stevens was not supposed to be rescued. He was supposed to be kidnapped, so that Obama could secure his release and look the hero right before the election. When the former SEALS happened to be there to intervene, the whole thing unraveled.
I know it sounds conspiratorial, but so far it's the only scenario that makes any sense to me. BTW, when will Obama release the autopsy reports of our fallen compatriots? It's been over a month; what is there to hide there as well?

House Armed Services Chairman asked to speak to these people last week and was blocked. Speaks volumes.
The consulate was the ambassadors work place. Perhaps Mr. Obama would like to call this work place violence.
This administration is not only without morals it is quite dangerous to our great nation nor does it hold the interests of our nation ahead of its socialist quasi Marxist ideology.
This administration is a threat to our nation.
Fear (cowardice) of launching a miltary rescue had nothing to do with it. This was a calculated decision deemed more optimal than a conducting a fullscale rescue mission with all of the risks and ramifications of revealing a failed foreign policy. Blaming it on street violence brought on by an obscure video and publicly perp walk the "hate crime" producer with a platoon of deputies and a horde of news media in the dead of night was the method to keep the illusion alive.
This was worse than mere cowardice to act. This was negligent homicide to hide the lie that Obama is the great arab spring peacemaker and al qaeda vanquisher.
Good question, and Romney needs to ask it tonight of Dear leader.
Benghazi is a port city, readily accessible from a multitude of military assets stationed around the region.
Also, if the British and French consules left the area along with the Red Cross, what the hell were we still doing there?
