My finger slipped on the car radio tuner this morning and I listened to a few minutes of an NPR 'comedy' show, perhaps a replay of Prairie Home Companion? The jokes were lame, but the audience hooted, squealed, and whistled when one punch line included the word "binders." It was by far the loudest and most spontaneous laughter.
Some information gets through to libs. Some is never aired on the "news" outlets they use.
This is a quote from the WSJ article that attempted to explain away the delay as the "fog of war". The first to be flown to Tripoli were American diplomats and civilians. The U.S. security team waited for a second flight. During the wait, Libyan troops went, without any Americans, to the Benghazi Medical Center to retrieve the ambassador's body. Around 8 a.m., according to Libyan officials, the security detail flew back to Tripoli, carrying the body.
Some officials say the U.S. could have sent military forces to Benghazi from U.S. Naval Air Station Sigonella, which is some 450 miles away in Sicily, or mobilized a Marine team in Rota, Spain. Some officials said the U.S. could also have sent aircraft to the scene in a "show of force" to scare off the attackers.
State Department officials dismissed the suggestions as unrealistic. "They would not have gotten there in two hours, four hours or six hours. They don't have troops sitting in a room next to an airplane with a pilot just sitting in the next room drinking coffee," one senior State Department official said."
Agree 100%. I do volunteer work in the schools and am constantly amazed at the lack of knowledge.
IMHO, the biggest problem is that the kids are not being taught how to do critical thinking.
I also heard it was a setup, whereas there had previously been talk of releasing the blind sheik. As it goes, they were staging a kidnapping of the Ambassador so they could "trade" him for the blind sheik. Stevens may well have been in on it as well.
They had removed all protection, but the two Seals who just happened to come along, mucked up their plans, jumped in to save Stevens, so then the terrorists whacked out killing everyone.
I think it's pretty remarkable that the Seals were able to hold off that murdering well-armed hoard for the duration of that protracted lopsided battle.
I think the Iran 2 party talks is more from the political ‘advisers’ of Obama, in an attempt to deflect discussion from the fallout of the Benghazi mishandling.
The Obama regime has no experience in even thinking about America’s role as a world power: it is antithetical to their worldview, which is that most problems are America’s fault. So for someone in the regime to “leak” this info, without any of our allies even being a tiny bit in the loop, just demonstrates their lack of basic awareness of international relations. They are dangerous fools.
Might be true of some, but I'll see that statement and raise you a half-dozen school age grandkids of my acquaintance.
Got a request from the 11yo grandson a few weeks ago; Wanted a copy of my resume to show to his "Science" teacher after the kid had debunked the GW scam during class, cited me as his source and got the "Well, he's not a REAL scientist" from the teacher as a rebuttal. (Don't know exactly how that was received, but his Mom said that his grades are all still B+ or better and her conference with that teacher was pleasant, but only took a couple of minutes.)
Don't think that I'll see any invitations to come visit that class, though.
Washerman quote- “Romney’s Dukes of Hazard Tour” ??
Hi. rodguy. No, I missed Tony last night, but got the fill-in today.
Also, Charlene Lamb testified before congress that there were at least 4-6 security cameras rolling in realtime at the Benghazi compound so they had the whole thing live from before it started, during, and after. The drone got there less than an hour after it began and filmed it from the air for the final hours. So there are two sets of film. No one did a damn thing to help these guys. Over six hours, no one did anything.
I would also add that Washington got a phone call, and who answered? And whom did they inform? And why was Libya so unresponsive?
Background Conference Call With Senior State Department Officials
October 9, 2012
http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2012/10/198791.htm
“...I neglected to mention from the top that that agent from the top of this incident, or the very beginning of this incident, has been on the phone. He had called the quick reaction security team, he had called the Libyan authorities, he had called the Embassy in Tripoli, and he had called Washington. He had them all going to ask for help.”
Four Americans died in the attack: Ambassador Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and two embassy security personnel, Glen Doherty[158] and Tyrone Woods,[159] both former Navy SEALs.[160] Initial reports indicated that ten Libyan guards died; this was later retracted and reported that seven Libyans were injured.[161] A report in The New York Times has stated that there were two facilities used by the Americans in Benghazi, one for the American mission and an annex a half-mile away[162] and that:
Neither was heavily guarded, and the annex was never intended to be a safe house, as initial accounts suggested. Two of the missions guards Tyrone S. Woods and Glen A. Doherty, former members of the Navy SEALs were killed just outside the villas front gate.[163]
A subsequent report quoted in Bloomberg News states that mortar fire from the attackers was the cause of death: "At about 4 a.m., the two officials said, the annex took mortar fire. Some rounds landed on the roof, killing two agents and severely wounding another. Tyrone S. Woods and Glen A. Doherty, two former Navy SEALs working as security personnel, were the other Americans killed in Benghazi."[164] There are recent reports that Woods's mother has been pressing officials for an accounting of the circumstances surrounding his death. As reported in Foreign Policy magazine, Hillary Rodham Clinton described the circumstances of Woods's death: "if not for him, the 30 people inside the consulate would not have made it out."[165]
The numbers in square braces are sources.
If you have counter sources, send them to me to fight the Wiki-LIE-berals. But they're crafty, and I need GOOD sources.
Here’s where that last post is linked too;

Sometimes I even win. It can be far more frustrating, but just occasionally incredibly rewarding, then posting on Free Republic.
Usually I steer clear of straight politics and focus on glowBULL warming and Green Socialism.
Why didnt anyone in the Obama Administration just call the Libyan Government and tell them to get protection for our Ambassador and Embassy immediately?
Good question. At least it may have helped, and shown some indication of their support .
Get the tape of Judge Jeanines show last night and review what Lt.Col. Tony Shaffer had to say about help being available in 30 minutes if they had only called. The regime is in some big time trouble. If the truth gets out they have to distort lie, astroturf, do anything they can to make it all go away and quickly.
Appears to me that the military guys are quite disgusted with all of this.
Hopefully someone involved in the live monitoring will speak up to expose the non support of our troops.
This is Blackhawks down repeated.
I am more than a BIT perplexed AND dismayed at the utter silence of our military “leaders”......There is huge difference between obeying orders of the CinC (and in this case I firmly believe UNLAWFUL orders)AND being complicit with a coverup!!
C’mon you pentagon perfumed pussies! SPEAK UP!
C’mon perfumed prince AKA “King David” Petreaus...SPEAK UP!!!!!!
(crickets.......)
"That you approve a continued US presence in Benghazi through then end of 2012; and that you approve a combined footprint of 35 US government personnel in Benghazi including eight State Department and USAID and two TDY beds."
I don't believe that Woods and Doherty were part of the State security contingent once you deduct the RSOs, commo, Principle Officer and management personnel. There was obviously another mission for the outpost in Benghazi. Based on the Congressional hearings, there was concern about retrieving the 10 to 20 thousand hand held anti-air weapons. The PM Bureau in State and DOD were probably overseeing it along with other intel agencies. There have been news reports to that effect if you google it.
Wood and Doherty were located in annex and were not part of the reaction force on the main compound. They just happened to get involved in the firefight due to their past history. It was not their mission.
I also found it intstructive to note that at the Andrews AFB ceremony receiving the bodies back that Panetta attended the ceremony. It indicated to me that Wood and Doherty were probably on the DOD payroll or at least one of them was.
There are some other factors that indicate to me they had nothing to do with Embassy security, but I will just leave it at that.
Cmon you pentagon perfumed pussies! SPEAK UP!
Cmon perfumed prince AKA King David Petreaus...SPEAK UP!!!!!!
Well stated Mags.
Really disappointed in Petraues. I thought he had more integrity than this.
Let me get this straight, since it was unrealistic to send in troops to aid the embattled staff and ambasador Stevens they just let them die?Amazing.
I’m watching a piece by FNC right now that has all the events in Benghazi very well documented, revising things in my mind one more time.
