It has always puzzled me how the Pennsylvania contingent at the annual March for Life is so robust and yet Pa. is so democrat.

The scranton area is an old coal mining region, very union and very democratic and very catholic....all three. It’s a generational thing. I grew up in a little town called Dunmore, Pa. just outside of Scranton. There was a joke that if you wanted your garbage collected in Dunmore you had to be democrat.

The democrats have massive machines in Scranton, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. They can manufacture as many votes as they need to take the dem over the top. With the court injuction on voter ID, they are home free to continue to manufacture their votes. It would be nice for PA to go GOP, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
