Doesn’t Ohio have Kasich, and he’s a huge success as governor? If there is a problem it’s that the electorate has been changed with illegal immigration.

The whole problem with Ohio spooks me. If you can’t win there, are you going to win blue states where you are behind by 4 points?

Clearly most people know Obama is a problem. Maybe we are screwed and the demographics are about to drag us under anyway. We’ll see.

It sounds as though John Kasich has helped the GOP, on balance. The polls are trending in the right direction, too - it's just that the movement has been far slower than in other states. The other thing that helps us is the clear enthusiasm gap between the parties - judging from the crowds I've seen at Ohio rallies, there is no doubt where the greater enthusiasm lies.

And yet... Ohio has still been a tough nut for Romney to crack.

Here's the gist of it: in 2008, Obama won Ohio by just over 200,000 votes. His margin of victory in Cuyahoga County (Cleveland) was 250,000, so that alone put him over the top. If the GOP can get enough Romney supporters to the polls and if the Democrat turnout in Cleveland drops off by 5... 10%, perhaps, then I think there's a very good chance to prove the polls wrong.

Well Kasich does not believe he is a success and is laying low so that he can get ready for his reelection in 2014. He tried a Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker ploy to do away with pulic employee collective bargaining BUT he included police and fire. A statewide referendum defeated his reforms due to the call to “save” safety forces. Walker did not include safety forces, and all he had to fight was the teachers union. Therefore, Kasich is doing nothing for Romney.

All of Ohio’s statewide elected office holders are Republican, including Attorney General and former U S Senator Mike DeWine (who is also laying low).

I cannot figure it out. If they are waiting until the last minute, they miss all the early voters.

Meanwhile Ohio is flooded with both Obamas, Biden, Bill Clinton, Bruce Springsteen, etc.

Where are Palin? Gingrich?
