I live in a fairly liberal township in Montgomery County, one of the Philly suburbs. I found it strange this year that I did not see nearly as many Obama signs as I have in the past. I mean, there are hardly any. Not a lot of Romney signs but that is to be expected.

If Romney wins PA, I suspect its because his slamming Obama’s War on Coal in the West and Scranton is working and because the liberal suburbs of Philly (where I live) aren’t going to turn out and vote like they did before. There is evidence that the Philly suburbs aren’t going to turn out and vote like they have before.

That is probably right in Montgomery county. I think Bucks, Delaware and Chester Counties are a bit more likely to go back to their roots. BTW, I grew up in Delaware county. Philadelphia and its suburbs is the model for just about any large town or city in PA. I live outside Harrisburg now, and the hood vote is completely offset by two townships outside Harrisburg. Pick a town ... State College, Scranton, Wilkes Barre, Allentown, Reading, Erie, Pittsburgh, York ... All Rat towns, but area immediately outside is going Red this year. The key to offsetting Philadelphia is to have three or four counties, not townships, to offset their vote.

Being from the Philly area, the reason why I wanted Romney nominated from Day 1 is that Mitt and Ann do not scare suburban women. You know, the types in Philly who vote against their own husband’s paycheck due to environmental issues or abortion etc.

Unlike every other GOP prospect this cycle, Romney was uniquely suited to play on Blue Turf.

And now we are witnessing that impact.
