I never made a claim that “Jews sat tight in Manhattan”...

Jews fought (my late father) and died in WWII.

My Father was there under Patton. As a combat engineer he received three bronze and one silver star for his actions in the Ardennes. He was also at the camps. He was with an organic combat engineer unit. If it wasn't for the St. Louis fire I could tell you with certainty what each medal was for.

He made a very interesting point about the camp liberations. They had nowhere to go when the gates were opened.

My Uncle was a bombardier and navigator with the VIII Bomber Command. My Uncle on my Mother's side of the family was lost on the Pompano. Finally, my Mother's father (too old for combat) was a combat engineer in England.

They were all Jews.

You can find the military history at The National Museum of American Jewish Military History. My Father had a propensity for lifting things from the nazis when he ended up in Vienna. They are now in the museum. The best is Hitler's personal chef's photo album. We are certain that came from Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest.

Everyone served in a common cause, including American Jews.
