Thank you. If the attack in fact went on for 6 hours as the administration claims, why didn’t the CIC order air and ground support from our positions in the Med. Surely we had aircraft capable of being on site within at the very least a couple hours. The US has ships and aircraft all over that region.

Why didn't the CIC order immediately air and ground support from USN positions in the Mediterranean?
Maybe we couldn't have saved the lives of Stephens and the others but at least Obama could have said we did everything we could.
Instead of a month later claiming "we will find the perps and bring them to justice" - we had all the perps assembled on the night of the attack in a single location, we could have been on site within an hour or two and wiped them all out where they stood.
I do not understand why we did not do this - anyone else?
I want to know when the US knew where the body of the ambassador was. And what time was the body returned to US hands. I have read the first hand account from what happened to the ambassador, Sean Smith, and the security guy who accompanied them to the “safe room.” When I think of a fire being lit with diesel fuel in a building in Libya, I think the whole place is gonna go up in flames. But it didn’t. The ambassador’s body was not grilled to a crisp. Our guys returned to the burning building repeatedly in an attempt to locate the body. I am sure this happened rather fast at the consulate but how did the fire stop? Sorry if I sound very ignorant.
