Because everyone had such a great time at the last shoot we are anxious for the next one.
The date for the 8th Annual TCMS shoot will be June 8th, 2013 and will be held at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range, in New Braunfels, TX. Providing we get the OK from Mr. Dietz I will call him this week to discuss our coming to the range.
Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius, so we will again be staying in cottages. The cottage pick for this shoot is the Cypress Creek Cottages, in Wimberley, TX. There are only twelve cottages at this place, and as of this writing 7 of them have been reserved. NOTE: They require full payment at the time the reservations are made. Wimberley also has some very nice hotels in the area in the event all the cottages get rented.
Making it a three & a half day weekend will be the plans for many of us, that way we can enjoy the area and have lots of porch time.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided. There is still plenty of time to figure out those details. Saturday after the shoot lunch will be provided by our own chef ~ cpdiii (Thanks Charlie!). Suggestions for the Saturday night meal are more than welcome.
My thanks to mylife, penelopesire, LuvW, BuckeyeTexan and NYTexan for their help in getting these plans going.
I suppose we should have a vote.
I just saw Pen the other day. I need to remind you to download the remaining pics in her camera while you’re at her house during the Rodeo days!
Mega Hugs and love!
You’re going to love the box seats!
Yes, bring ‘em!
Yee-Haw!
You dirty dawg! You didn’t tell me you were gonna see onyx. Just for that, I’m gonna go see her. So there! :)
I just got home from a very fun, but short, shoot recon trip, where I met up with BuckeyeTexan and NYTexan.
After we checked out the Town Square (which has a lot of really cute shops), we headed over to the cottages. We all liked what we saw! What they dont tell you on their website is the cottages are on both sides of the street. Cottages 1 8 are on the wooded side; cottages 9 12 are on the creek side. The three of us decided that cottages 9 & 10 will be the porch monkey chin wag action area, due to those having bigger kitchens, decks and a great view of the river. There is a common area with a full kitchen & tables and chairs, but they charge $150 (or was it $100?) for the night ~ I will call them to see what kind of deal we can work out since FReepers will be renting most of their cottages. Ill keep you guys posted.
Speaking of FReepers renting the cottages, there are only four left to rent ~ #s 2, 3, 5 and 12. You will have to call to rent a cottage because the owner put a hold on them for us, until the end of April. A few reminders mention TexasCowboy and you will receive a 10% discount AND you have to pay for the cottage when you make the reservation.
Our next stop was to Lone Star Range. After looking around we concluded that the place is not contusive to our needs, so . . . we are going with our original plan of going to Dietz Gun Range in New Braunfels. (Yes Mrs. Dietz was rude, and ticked me off, but I agreed to put on my big girl britches for the sake of the group). For those not joining us for breakfast
On my way home today I stopped at Granny Ds restaurant in Canyon Lake to check out the place and the food, to see if this would be a good place for us to meet for breakfast. Its kind of small, but they have a room in the back where we will be seated. They have a breakfast buffet on the weekend and the prices on the breakfast menu are decent. I made a reservation for 8:00 a.m. for the 8th.
Granny Ds is 30 minutes from the cottages and 20 minutes to the range. On a plus side, the scenery along the way is amazing!
BuckeyeTexan and NYTexan please fill in any blanks I left out.
What were you wearing before?
Little girl knickers.
You guys are the bomb, The Mom. I cannot wait.
Not if NYTexan was at the wheel. LOL!
I vote yes!
What are we voting on?
Sounds good to me.
Sorry I could not get down there with yall this weekend.
Playing Texas Hold’em.
Wuss. I turned a North American Arms .22 short into a TOW wire-guided anti-tank munition.
Texas Holdem is fine, but we should try Georgia Tickleem.
Without a caravan trailing behind him, NYT is a wild man behind the wheel!
Heh.
Just one more reason that mom liked you best.
I vote for a timed Texas Hold ‘em tourney with payouts to the top three places. Blinds go up every 15/20 minutes. I have chips enough to manage 20 players. (4 tables of 5 players or 2 tables of 10.)
(Addressing NYTexan, speaking with German accent)
"....Zere is much vee do not know about you, Mister Bond...."
Gonna bring your phone... they made it illegal to even try any more... what a world....
