Because everyone had such a great time at the last shoot we are anxious for the next one.
The date for the 8th Annual TCMS shoot will be June 8th, 2013 and will be held at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range, in New Braunfels, TX. Providing we get the OK from Mr. Dietz I will call him this week to discuss our coming to the range.
Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius, so we will again be staying in cottages. The cottage pick for this shoot is the Cypress Creek Cottages, in Wimberley, TX. There are only twelve cottages at this place, and as of this writing 7 of them have been reserved. NOTE: They require full payment at the time the reservations are made. Wimberley also has some very nice hotels in the area in the event all the cottages get rented.
Making it a three & a half day weekend will be the plans for many of us, that way we can enjoy the area and have lots of porch time.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided. There is still plenty of time to figure out those details. Saturday after the shoot lunch will be provided by our own chef ~ cpdiii (Thanks Charlie!). Suggestions for the Saturday night meal are more than welcome.
My thanks to mylife, penelopesire, LuvW, BuckeyeTexan and NYTexan for their help in getting these plans going.
OK, I’ll use the real stuff.
What was I thinking?
They have tables with spurs? Goodness, that can’t be a comfortable place to rest your elbows.
We best alert B.T. ‘bout this...
WTF? How am I supposed to have any fun at all?
Parking lot, truck bed, no rules.
Thanks for the information ping and freepmail. My computer has been dead for over a month so I’ve been out of the loop but husband and I still intend to be in attendance.
Glad you are back online. I look forward to meeting you & hubby in less than two weeks.
You are a better woman than me, I could not take it if my computer was dead for over one day! Last year my old computer crashed ~ it was horrid!! I had to talk to my husband, actually cook a few meals, do some actual house work and also realized that the notes were left each other was on dust, not sticky notes. ~ shudder ~ Right now we both have 14 back up computers - just in case. ;-)
If you’d asked me half a decade ago, I’d have said I couldn’t’ go even a week without being online. Now, I’m mostly retired and a little more laid back. And, during the time the puter went on the blitz I was caring for my bestest gal friend thru her last weeks of cancer. Lost her last month and threw myself into working up the garden that I didn’t get a chance to start early enough in the year because I was caring for her. I am REALLY going to enjoy the shoot. Hubby has humored me about going out just to fire the shotgun since Martha passed. Shooting is good for distressed emotional gunk.
Have you talked Mr.Luv into joining us?
I’ll call up that Tard that likes to stop by and ask him to visit Mr.Luv twice a day if he doe’s not come with!
Seven batches of soap are bagged, tagged, and ready for the shoot, and I’m looking forward to giving it all away.
This time next week I’ll be packing the truck.
This time next week, I’ll be in Alabama and heading for DFW.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
The “Gathering of the Clans” can mean a hella long trip for some folks!
It’s appreciated.
Time and miles just go by so fast when Bryan and I are together. We truly enjoy each others company and laugh and talk the whole way.
When I’m not cursing at the Garmin, LOL!
Last time it kept taking us off the freeways and sending us through every 25 MPH business district along the way.
Also, if you want to stop to eat or restock the water, it nags you to get back on the road and starts bossing you around.
It’s just another thing to laugh at. [smiles] But it does work fairly well in spite of all that nonsense.
And its maps and routes got upgraded Sunday, so not too much should change before we get on the road.
All that to say, “It’s no big hardship to drive a bit to see our dear friends.” And thank you, my friend.
I just go for the food.
Guns frighten me.
Yes, I noticed how you cringed every time someone fired your Mosey.
Don’t worry, I’ll protect you from those nasty guns.
Looking forward to seeing you & your hubby again. Also, I’m ready for some soap ~ I gave a lot to my family last year and now I am running low.
Guns frighten me.
Ditto, plus add good Porch Monkey Conversation.
