Could be another Iran-Contra like situation. US trying to arrange for Libyan missiles to go to Syrian rebels, via Turkey. What’s confusing is which faction in Syria are the ‘moderates’ (defected Syrian military) and which are
jihadists (including lots of Libyan AQ affiliated fighters). And which side is Putin supporting? Add Hezbollah, the Kurdish PKK, etc. and you get an even bigger mess.
Never mind, Putin is supporting Assad. But if he falls Russia would certainly team with Iran to destabilize any ‘moderate’ fragile successor regime.
