Couldn’t ask for additional security, but yet Nordstrom gets a raise????? Payoff? Shut your mouth payoff?
I think the point of the “raise” was because he was deemed to be getting hazardous duty pay instead of regular pay. This means that State Dept. was quite aware of the area being hazardous and in need of extra security, yet did not provide it.
