I haven’t clicked on the main link yet because I keep getting a ‘blocked’ notification. I hear this deal also includes the MIG-29M and SU-35, which is BAD. Really Bad. You know, for helping to establish a ‘sovereign nation,’ you would think the Iraqis would come to us for an arms deal. Thanks to you know who and his lack for strengthening ties, keeping the Iranians and Russians out, we will now have another player getting more Russian equipment in the Middle East.
I think this is the entire text anyway. :’)
Oh, and I just noticed, the source/author s/b AFP.
The “you know who” I’m thinking about is Bush. We should own the country and all the damned oil.
There was an article in Foreign Affairs recently saying the U.S. was falling behind in international arms sales because weapons produced by the defense industry were too sophisticated and costly for Second and Third World countries.
The premise was that during the Bush years the Pentagon was spending so much for advanced weapons that arms makers neglected the international market which normally was a staple. Russia, China, Israel and even South Korea were happy to take up the slack.
Latest crawler on Fox - Iraq to sell US made weapons systems to Iran including tanks and fighter planes ... needs money for Russian weapons systems. Iran agrees to deal
Assume tanks are M1AIs and planes are F16s. But don’t know for sure these are the weapons to be sold.
