Nobody said anything about wanting to be slaves. We Hebes were slaves before we wandered around in the desert for a generation. Would I want to go back to Egypt? Hell frikkin’ no!
Better than being dead. In ancient Greece and Roman times slaves were mostly treated well, room & board etc. Many got their freedom from greatfull owners.
In my case though, I would be the conqueror.
