Would you submit yourself and next 15 generations of your descendants to slavery if you knew that in 300 hundred years your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandchild would have citizenship in the greatest country on the planet?

Not if I knew that Obama would eventually be in charge but considering the alternative.
Since blacks were only enslaved in the United States of America from about 1783 until 1865 and then only in a portion of the United states, you may have overstated the "greats."
A case could be made.

Of course not.....why be subject to that when 300 years from now, my descendants could STILL be subject to slavery and benefit from the joys of living in economic powerhouses as Liberia and Zimbabwe? They would miss out on such career opportunities as cannibal, child soldier, or malaria/HIV patient.
But of course, those would just be fantasy dreams because without slave traders to buy me, I most likely would've been executed after losing that last tribal war.
I'm so tired of the incessant need to cement the victim class. I'm also tired of history being used to berate the majority of the population and that we can never try to use any historical events for a positive outcome. But since that is the case, I don't see any blessings in disguise for my people either - forcing them into exile so they had to come to the New World. Now where's my reparations from the Catholic Church?

The realistic alternatives for those slaves were being a slave in Africa, a slave in America, or being dead. They were were “surplus” and their captors didn't need, or particularly want them.
So decide for yourself.
