SoCal hit with huge increase in gasoline costs (Up to $6/gallon in some parts of L.A.)

There's a shortage of gas in California and consumers are beginning to feel the pinch.

CBS LA:

What goes up, must come down. But in the meantime, consumers try to cope.

Southern Californians are paying the highest prices in the nation currently. And experts say that pain at the pump will last a little while longer.

One station in Calabasas is charging the highest rate in LA County - nearly $6 for a gallon.

Reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, Amanda Burden went to the station and called it a virtual ghost town.

She said cars peeled in but peeled right out when they saw the sign for $5.79 a gallon for regular. Said one customer, "I can't believe this! $5.79 a gallon? Oh my God!"

Said another, "Crap! I've never seen it so high. This is unbelievable."

It gets worse. Super costs $5.99.

Tanya Barkhordar and her family own Low-P Gas. They had to close shop Wednesday when they ran out of fuel and couldn't get another delivery from refineries.

Says Barkhordar, "They were telling us there was no gas in the last 48 hours. We couldn't get gas in on Tuesday if we wanted to."

While some stations shut down to ride out the price increases, Burkhordar said when fuel became available Thursday she took the plunge and bought up a lot of fuel at a high price.

AAA is monitoring the price increases - on average nearly 10 cents in just the past 24 hours.

California prices continue to go up, while prices in the rest of the country to head downward.

Gas may be heading downard but with the average price per gallon in the US currently at $3.804, it will be a while before consumers get real relief.

But...but...but I remember Barry state controlled “media” saying that the cost of a gallon of gasoline wasn’t even on the voters’ “radar”. They don’t care how much it costs.

And I also remember Obami saying he wants $8.00 a gallon gas ...but not right now....a gradual increase is OK.

Hey Barry...hows that "slow increase" doing for you now..?

When only a Presidential "Face Palm" will suffice.

When I lived in the mountains, and town was 40 minutes away by car, I made one trip a month. Period.

tHE kALIFORNIA kOOLaiD drINkeRS dEMAnDed "ClEaN aIR"...

Their fuel additive/CAFE standards make their custom "blend" of summer gsoline the most difficult to refine and most expensive to purchase -- even on a good day!

ENJOY!

"....Let’s make it $10/gallon...."

I will gladly pay that price and consider it the price of freedom. If Romney carries California, some of the other so-called "swing states" won't matter.

Thank Algore and his watermelons. More oppression and poverty to come California’s way.

“Gas may be heading downward...”

Wrong. Gas prices are 2 cents more than one week ago. National average price for regular gas is $3.81 (according to AAA).

I hate to say this, but......I love it!!! I hope gasoline in California goes to $10.00 per gallon!!! Why? Californians voted for this all by themselves. You folks in California got exactly what you voted for. Idiots!!!

Oh heck, don't worry about those silly gas prices, that little fish they cut water off from farmers is doing quite well, that's the really important thing for Californians.

Loony liberal California deserves $6 gasoline, not that it will bother the Hollywood lefties. I feel for the good people of that state and hope they can get out of California before it falls into total economic collapse. Businesses are already fleeing to low places like Texas.

They’ll be giving BO 55 electoral votes this November - he’s the joker who shut down Gulf exploration, kept ANWR off limits, abandoned planned off-shore drilling on the Atlantic coast, and blocked the Keystone pipeline.

Sorry, their gas prices could double and I wouldn’t feel sorry for them. Let them burn liberal promises.

Prices for gas in the blue states should be higher since higher prices are due to their dumba$$ voting patterns.

Very, genuinely, sorry for you FReepers in Kommiefornia, and others who voted against Bathhouse Barry, but this is a real schaedenfreude moment for everyone else. Let the stoooopid burn! Let them see the consequences of their sheer idiocy shoved right up their arses.

FYI, here in oil-drilling Texas I paid $3.40/gallon on Wednesday to fill my tank.

Yes they are pre blaming ronmey "just in case".

The question I ask is, "how long into Romney's presidency will it take
to blame him for the last four years"..
