In the six months leading up to the assault on the United States consulate in Benghazi, the State Department reduced the number of trained Americans guarding U.S. facilities in Libya, according to a leading House Republican investigating the Sept. 11 anniversary attacks. The reduction in U.S. security personnel increased Americas reliance on local Libyan guards for the protection of its diplomats.

I read on another thread we now have special forces operating in 75 countries. I doubt a foot print would be the reason.

My take... yes you are correct. This take over by enemies of our Republic is completely known by all in the media, political and business circles. That is why Romney was pushed through so forcefully.
