FISHERSVILLE, Va. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has described his disparaging remarks about the 47% of Americans who don't pay federal income taxes as "not elegantly stated." Now he's calling them "just completely wrong."

Romney had contended that nearly half of Americans consider themselves "victims" and are dependent on government.

No, that's not it. Don't be surprised if in the future MR screws up more valid points if he takes office,

But talking about what he would really do is considered taboo by many here. Last day on Earth is election day,the Sun blows up the day after

Romney has not handled the matter/issue very well, indeed with his latest backtrack he seems to have wiped away much of the strong stand he made in the debate. I feel someone in an advisory capacity is giving him sophomoric advice. Not a promising situation. His comment should/could have been something like ‘ I know and others know there are 47% of the people who will be inclined to vote for Obama because in these difficult times aid is needed and currently these people have been given the balm of some kind of government subsidy. It is my goal to move these people in as many who truly seek to join the the other people who get a living from meaningful work with the reward of building a strong National economy.’ Having grown up during and experienced the ‘great depression’ I think I understand the innate desire for many of the 47% to get back into the wage earner group.

His error was to write off the whole 47% as not being potential supporters.

Many of the 47% are not there by choice. Many are there and still there because of Obama's policies. Which are designed to grow the percentage well above 50% in order to ensure a permanent Democrat majority and a classless two-class society: the gubment nomenklatura and the rest of you peasants!

The correct response to the fat-cat donor's question would have been to explain how WMR's policies will put those of the 47% who want to work back to work and restore their self-respect (along with that of the United States of America).

Most people don’t vote.

Of those that do, most pay taxes.

Of those that don’t, most have in the past.

Of those that don’t pay and haven’t paid, most think they do pay.

Of those that vote, don’t pay, haven’t paid, and are aware they have never paid, nearly zero changed their vote based on Romney’s remark.

Now he’s kinda apologizing to them.

Net vote change: 2 votes.

“People LIKE politicians to admit error.”

And people DON’T like politicians who get caught.

” People LIKE politicians to admit error.”

Then he needs to come clean and admit Extortion-Care in Massachusetts or otherwise was an error.

Further he needs to admit coming back with an “replaced” Extortion-Care where people are at the mercy of insurance company dictates, is also an error.

And finally, if he took any kind of compensation as governor of Massachusetts, from Massachusetts, health care on taxpayers dime, then he has actually indicted himself of mooching off productive taxpayers, along with the rest of the GOP and Dem hypocrites mooching off their extravagant retirements, Exemptions from Extortion-Care, salaries and compensations self-hiked, free transportation, aides, recesses, campaigning while “working”, etc., on and on and on.

At another site I post at, the lefties are giddy about this. To them its huge because they are framing it as a flip flop.
Romney should have said the attention on this edited tape was a distraction and stuck with the inelegant part. Now the leftwing media was given a gift by the Romney campaign. And the leftwing media will make a mountain of this molehill.

” He took a valid point and screwed it up with his elitist buddy talk recorded without his knowledge.”

He should have known everything he says has the potential to come back at him. Dims play hardball. I’ll bet it ends up in a TV ad.
