Romney’s comeback
“Hey, Big Bird makes more than I do. He clearly doesn’t understand the problems of average, American children.”
I walk to the post office every day. Sure driving down there isn’t going to break me but it all ads up.
Big Bird et al get MILLIONS in profits. Let THEM support the liberal NPR.
The fact that it is a miniscule fraction of the federal budget has NOTHING to do with the fact that the expenditure is Anti-Constitutional.
Sheesh! These people must think it’s possible to be a little bit pregnant, too.
I was interviewed today on local tv and the clip they showed was me saying that we shouldn’t be borrowing money from China to fund PBS......
wow- so if we get rid of PBS the education system in this nation will go down the crapper??? i mean further down the crapper than it already is despite the gozillions we already spend on education?? got it...
Geez. These people have never been to a toy store. Big Bird and Elmo and the rest have been merchandized for years and have earned enough money to produce 100 Sesame Streets once a day for the next 1,000 years. But the producers of that program, which taxpayers have subsidized and paid to develop, kept the merchandizing rights to those characters for themselves. Taxpayers haven’t gotten a dime back, ever, on their enormous, decades-long investment.
Sesame receives NO government funding. They said so on CNN today. Big Bird is a 1%er
Big Bird is for gay marriage and hates Chick Fil A. I stand with free enterprise.
It's amazing that none of them seem to realize this is no longer the 1960s, and that there are multiple, privately-held, and arguably better media that cater to elementary and pre-school age children of all learning abilities.
Capitol Steps
“Should the political winds shift in an ugly direction...”
I signed as Big Bird.
“I get no government funding. I AM the 1%”
So, Evan, I don’t have any children. Why do you expect me to pay for YOUR children to watch Big Bird?!
Romney should give the Big Bird to Obummer.
Somehow everybody always appeals to Sesame Street when cutting PBS funding comes up.
How about “All Things Considered,” and the rest of that garbage?
I’ve teaching at a small university for 20 years
In that time, I have seen what Sesame Street has wrought on the minds of our children.
Textbooks are no longer text, they are big, bright images with material presented in 30 second clips. Kids don’t have the attention span to actually read an entire chapter in a book without entertaining interruptions,
I HATE what Sesame Street has done to education.
Big Bird needs to get his feathered tail off the dole and out into the job market.
