AWW! My cool shootin' ladies.

I can't tell for sure, but the way things taper there at the end of the Mosin-Nagant, it looks like "fixed bayonet". Excellent for marshmallows over the camp fire. LOL!

That is indeed a bayonet. Apparently, if it is left in its looser, folded-against-the-barrel position, the vibration can interfere with the accuracy of the shot, so it's better to keep it fixed.

Do not let humblegunner hear you talk about sticking marshmallows on his Mosin after he spent a day cleaning it. ;) winking
