Frank Luntz: Ive never seen anything like this; CBS post-debate poll shows big win for Romney
(Excerpt) Read more at twitchy.com ...
Too true; Obama didn’t look good at all (though he spoke more clearly than I thought he would without his Speak & Spell - at least early on). I posted here months ago that Obama wouldn’t engage in debates, and now you can see why I thought he’d somehow avoid them. For too long he was flying high by avoiding any critical or even impartial questions about his performance & policies; it is horrible timing to get ripped apart on them so close to the election.
Well he is black (or at least mocha) and a Harvard trained lawyer so he must be a masterful debater and if he isn’t...Then just have his consigliere Axelrod get his opponents divorce records unsealed
He was certainly heartbroken; the spinmeisters were all over this afterwards (when the results came in) about how people who though Romney won weren’t necessarily going to vote for him. That guy Rick Maddow was asking an Omaba strategist if there was a deliberate plan to not attack Romney in the debate (trying to hold out hope for Obama’s dwindling fans, and MSNBC’s dwindling viewers, that this was anything but a disaster for Obama).
4 years in a cocoon? More like 51 years, he’s been coddled all his life.
Something similar to that was my thought. Where did they find these people!? It is truly an amazing thing.
Amen. There is an argument to be made that following politics is a fools errand. You can tune in 2 days befeore the election, look at what has transpired and make still make a reasonably well-informed choice.
Just because part of the population doesn’t spend their free time following the daily soap-opera of politics doesn’t make them dumb.
Yes!! My favorite line of the night also! Was just saWEET!!
Best line of the night was when Mitt said if it is not worth borrowing money from China for it we cut it.
Now if only congress will allow that to happen.
Their bag of tricks is empty. A tactic once understood is no longer a tactic.
But, let’s not cheer until Nov. 7. If Obama loses they’ll blame the voting machines, racism, and the “wicked, outdated, elitist” Electoral College. We better be ready.
Then the hard work of governing begins: hard budget austerity, sparking the economy, appointing two SCJ (one Jewish seat in the mold of a Dennis Praeger Jew and the other to a second Clarence Thomas), ending the government school monopoly and exposing Obamacare and the entire health care system to competition through Federalism and the proper use of the Commerce Clause (to engender competition and stop states from protectionism).
Then we can rest.
Chris Christie was 100% right!!! GAME CHANGER!!! It’s now a Different election!!
I was thinking of that earlier - Christie looks like a fortune-teller this morning, doesn't he? I'm still in shock from last night. It was a joy to behold!
Obamas secret to success is that he has learned how to be an empty slate onto which his supporters project what they want him to be based on their own personal hopes and ambitions.
Last night those supporters saw their hopes and ambitions get crushed as Romney revealed to America Obama as he really is instead of what his supporters want him to be.
I would bet 2-1 that Matthews revises/spins his initial comments. Watch.
It wasn’t necessarily his job, but giving some nod to saying it would help to have a Republican majority in Congress would be better than only saying he’ll do bipartisanship. At least say I’d like to have Republicans there to help pass what Democrats have blocked, but can be bipartisan if necessary. Ironically, Obama helped Republicans in congressional races more by reminding everyone that Democrats will try to block Romney from overturning the unpopular Obamacare.
Actually, I would call him the guy out front who guards the rope for those truly behind the curtain - Soros, and other New World Order socialists. Remember, he was groomed by such socialist ideologs.
I actually watched MSNBC for the first time in years after the debate. I honestly was shocked by how sophomoric they really are. They were all literally whining with high pitched voices. Whey Rudy G came on the one particularly effeminate guy (Hayes I think) acted like a petulant child trying to get Rudy to say something incriminating. Rudy swatted him down over and over and the pansy just put his head down and Rudy said “wanna try again”.
He can't do his job as president without enough Republicans in the Senate to overturn Obamacare and pass his other policies. They're a team and he's the leader. I don't think he had enough political capital going into last night to spend a lot of time talking up other Republicans. But he needs to do more of that now.
