I don't know how much truth there is to this but - my brother is a member of the Carpenters Union and he once told me to pay close attention to the difference in the podiums during presidential debates (I think it was during Bush v Gore but can't be certain). The carpenters always construct the Republicans with an inferior piece of wood.
