Need telephone poles? More expensive to set up?
Last I looked, they changed some of the more grammatically comical stuff, but kept the message pretty much the same. Then those pages were gone too. Now some of the links bring you to a Yahoo search page.
How about this quote that was still up, last time I checked:
Over 8 million people have already signed up for the Lifeline program and up to 35% of Americans are qualified.
So the program is designed to make 65% of Americans pay for their own phones, plus free phones for the other 35% like Obamaphone Lady.
And we're supposed to be racist if we call him a socialist.
obamaphone.net is now giving a 500 Internal Error.
It’s Lifeline. Someone has figured out how to make a few bucks by putting up a web site telling people about the free government phone programs, and for the sake of marketing gave it a clever name: “the Obama phone.”
It’s the same stupid marketing ploy that you see on a zillion web sites where ads pop up that say, “President Obama is paying moms to go back to school!” and similar nonsense.
It’s not a US government web site. And it might be that Obama has expanded the program some — heck, he’s expanded just about everything else — but the Lifeline program has been around for a long, long time.
Sheesh.
By the way — US government web sites don’t end in .net and pop up money-making advertisements. US government web sites generally end in .gov.
Nor (with some exceptions) do specific US government programs generally even have their own web site. Programs of an agency generally appear on the huge site of the government agency that sponsors that program.
I repeat: Sheesh.
It’s paid for by the Al Gore internet tax on your phone service. Have to laugh when they claim it was a fee billed to the phone companies and then PASSED ON to consumers.
That’s exactly what I said, in case you’re a product of the government schools and can’t read it.
We the taxpayers then paid for Obama’s expanded program, and somebody paid for that ad - if not the US government, then the Obama campaign. It is advertised specifically as the “Obama Phone,” and there is no commercial venture involved (other than Obama himself, of course). So he is clearly using this government program to promote himself.
Sheesh to you.
“I did not know that George W. Bush middle name was William, as the text promotes If they are going to blame the guy, at least get his name correct.” -goodtomato
Did you know saying that makes you a troll? Ask Arrowhead1952.
So when Stefanie Cutter hilariously claims “Obama doesn’t blame Bush for the economy it’s simply not true” she can now clarify technically they’ve been blaming George William Bush the imaginary president this whole time, not George Walker Bush.
“Yes, my name Peggy.” Good one!
I was “outed as a troll” by that comment. LOL
You nailed it.
Apparently you’re the one who is “government educated and can’t read.”
I suggest you go back and read my posts again. If that doesn’t work, then maybe get someone to explain them to you.
But I am a troll. Look at my sign up date! New people suck! And look at all my deceptively conservative posts! I’m just trying to lure you into a false sense of security by encouraging you to please vote for Romney.
Interesting concept. You are probably right. And the hefty OBAMAFONE can be a road block.
