—— If obama gets re-elected we deserve every miserable thing coming our way. ——
It’s amazing how easy it is to knock down a rotted barn.
It doesn't work that way. They give a notice saying something like "In accordance with federal law, this is notification today that 400 people across the business are going to be affected by an upcoming reduction in force in 60 days" but they don't say who those people are. So you never really know if your job is safe. I guess the union guys do since it's based on seniority but white collar workers don't, we just know a bunch of people are getting canned and we might be one of them.
I love it-”Obama guidance”. Lol! Funny! That sure is a PC way
of stating the obvious!
Dear OMB,
Im not worried about covering my liabilities!!!
My Priority is to FOLLOW THE LAW!
If that is inconvenient for you during this election cycle, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to consider the consequences of your policies and tactics!
But, then, Your Platform is built upon the concept of “no consequences”.
thuggery and threats does the trick once again.
“did not anticipate killing any contracts...”
Similar to Clinton’s “we do not intend to...”
It’s not even a semi-promise, and will be broken the minute he is re-elected, if that happens.
They probably told the contractors that they would wait a week, so that the notices could go out the day AFTER the election.
Exactly what I was thinking, they don’t cut on Jan 2nd, they wait awhile so the warnings come out afterward.
But in the article it says that New York and California require 90 days, not 60 days, so that means from tomorrow on some folks in those states may be getting unwelcome news.
If a company has employees in both Georgia and California, then would the california workeres GET warning?
I’d think so...
Someone made Lockheed an offer they couldn’t refuse.
The federal WARN act requires 60 days. An argument could be made that federal contractors, operating under federal instructions, could not be penalized for not complying with the state legislation.
The company said it based its decision on new guidance issued Friday by the Office of Management and Budget and the Pentagon.
Friday, day of choice to dump, wiggle and hide from We The People!
The guidance also said federal government would cover severance costs that are mandated under a federal layoff notices law.
Feral Gubmnt = Taxpayers! IOW, for our political protection, go ahead, break the layoff notice law and the taxpayers will pay the affected employees. Just be patriotic and consider this a small contribution to 0b0z0's campaign!
