There’s actually a good reason (looking for the explanation video now).
YouTube’s infrastructure, involving servers scattered all over the world, actually makes it hard to count the correct number of views. Views are counted one way until they hit 317, at which point the system notices “hey, this is getting popular, we need to shift how it’s being delivered” and the counter you see stalls there for a while.
Still 317 views but 4,615 comments so far.
