Do you have a clue? Reagan never advocated giving cell phones to the poor. He left office in January of 1989... do you even know what a cell phone from that time period looked like? I do because I still have one. I appreciate you making an effort, but your bible verse also falls short of advocating huge government social programs.
I am puzzled that you think that you would have a lot of allies in these forums who are in favor of big government social programs. And you think that because you advocate for these human spirit killing welfare programs that you are somehow morally superior?
Do you know that people who fall at the poverty line in this country are more wealthy than 85% of the world's population? I have a very hard time understanding where you are coming from and why you are espousing your pro-big-government beliefs here. We have seen what those types of programs have done to cities like Detroit and Chicago. They are absolutely destructive to people everywhere. You are either willfully ignorant or crazy.

The IMPRESSION this woman has, and wants other black people to have, is that BARACK OBAMA personally packeged the phone up, and sent it to her.
And if Obama doesn’t get reelected, some evil white person is going to come and TAKE that free phone away from her.

Let's see there are 11 million people on this $9.95 program (including the fraud). There's what 20 cell phone users in the U.S. for every person on Lifeline? So $9.95/20 must mean we are paying $0.50 a month in extra taxes to support the poor's use of phones.
Let's cut the poor off cellphones and we'll all be rich! I know where i'll spend my $0.50 cents a month. I'm going to get me a grape NEHI! I bet I can get one for $0.50 at Wal-Mart too.
The program DID start under Reagan, but it was house phones not cell phones until 2008. A lot of people seem to think cell phones are a luxury compared to house phones. But cell phones are now cheaper.

This is not a libertarian site. This is a social conservative site. And there are many people on this forum that are not in favor of shirking our responsibility to the poor. They also do want fiscally responsible government. And there is no reason we can’t do both.
No Danny it is a conservative site. There is nothing conservative about what you have been posting. I did go to a libertarian meeting about thirty years ago and knew within minutes that I was not one of them. You ought to watch a little more 700 Club and a little less MSNBC. Because you don't know anything about taking care of the “poor”. The “poor” need to be empowered to do for themselves not given free stuff by the government.
You are not fooling anyone. Especially those of us who have gotten our hands dirty actually helping others no matter who they are. You know in your heart that you are a fraud and a phony who is all talk. What you are advocating is all about shirking your responsibility to do for those who do need help so that you can let the “government” do it all for you. That is not the kind of “help” the “poor” needs. In fact everywhere that kind of “help” has been tried it has failed dismally. You are not helping anyone by advocating robbing one group and giving the ill gotten gain to another.
I challenge you to go out and do something nice for those around you every day. You can start out easy by thanking the clerk at Walmart for being so cheerful. You can work your way up to helping little old ladies. Be a little careful when you venture into the crime ridden areas that I sometimes frequent.
I don’t need a link to tell me how many phones these cheats are getting, I get the facts from the ignorant cheats who don’t have enough sense to shut up about it. They also get “FEEE” drugs from pharmacies, free groceries, free housing, free healthcare and “crazy checks” for every kid in the house.
They actually get more “FREE” stuff than what some people make by WORKING! And they are sitting on their asses figuring out how they can cheat taxpayers out of more stuff!
The people who are administering these programs would never underestimate the amount of fraud that they let their “customers” get away with.

No, I’m not extrapolating a couple of anecdotal stories. It is from experience from 100’s of these people daily who get “ FREE” medication from our pharmacy just like they get “FREE” crap every chance they get.
And we have absolutely no choice but to give it to them or have the store closed by the FEDS. And then get repaid months later at a fraction of the cost from the government.
So I don’t need a scientific audit (by a government agency on a government agency) to know what I’m talking about.
This mentally ill idgit needs to close her big piehole and go out and WORK for her phone, her social security, her disability, LIKE THE REST OF US DO!!! Get off YO AS*, HONEY — you and your kind need to get back to work!
GDit, I get so SICK of this crap. Get up every morning, before the crack of dawn, bone exhausted, leave my home, my family, risk my neck in traffic, put up with nasty bosses, co-workers, slog it home, bust it to keep the house clean, the kids fed, the bills paid ....probably ruining my health in the process ... just to see almost HALF of it taken out in taxes ... just SICK of it.

The “poor” don’t need phones. What they need is a cessation of ALL benefits and a kick in the ass. To do it would be to do them a favor.
