This is not going to be effective for a number of reasons...”allowed the NRSC” - the RNC has no control over the actions of the NRSC and vice versa - they are wholly separate entities. The NRSC also does not “fund” Todd Akin - they spend their own money independently - there is a certain level through which they could coordinate but generally they run their own show. Todd Akin is responsible for raising his own funds - not the NRSC nor the RNC. He was also not picked by anywhere near a majority - 36%. He was also not the choice of conservatives but of the Democrats and Claire McCaskill who spent millions of dollars to assist him in getting the nomination. Sending soemthing like this to them is not going to be very convincing as the only thing you are proving to them is you don’t know what you are talking about.

If there was actually this ground swell of support from conservatives he would be overwhelmed by so many donations he would have more than enough to make up for the NRSC and SuperPACs leaving the state. That is not happening because conservatives on the whole were just as appauled and embarrassed by what he said as anyone else was. Polls in the aftermath showed most Republicans wanted him to leave the race while most Democrats wanted him to stay.

Now that he is in the race for good, we’ll see what happens. I would assume there will be some under the radar / behind the scenes things going on. DeMint and Santorum have their own PACs so many they will pump some cash into the race.

Akin beat out two strong candidates. Fact is ..he won. He won due to the conservative voters in MO. Here is one of the ads that Claire ran and it sure as hell was not intended to aid Akin in winning. You are listening to media sound bites.

“Todd Akin calls himself the true conservative, but is he too conservative?” asks the narrator of the ad, which is approved by McCaskill’s campaign and paid for by the DSCC. The narrator goes on to note the negative posture Akin has taken toward President Obama, before concluding, “it’s no surprise Todd has been endorsed by the most conservative leaders in our country – Michele Bachmann and Mike Huckabee.”

As for the republican party..yes, they do give candidates money to assist with their campaigns. Why do you think Priebus said that Akin would not get a dime?
