Full title: "CNN Reports Details of Amb. Chris Stevens’ Private Diary; State Dept. Calls it ‘Indefensible’; CNN Punches Back: State Dept. ‘Attacking the Messenger’"

The State Department is taking CNN to task for sharing details from Ambassador Chris Stevens’ diary, before returning the journal to his family. Stevens, along with three other Embassy personnel were killed on Sept. 11 when the consulate in Benghazi came under attack.

n Friday, Cooper explained how CNN came upon the diary and how it factored into Wednesday’s reporting: “The information for that report like all of CNN’s reporting was carefully vetted. Some of that information was found in a personal journal of Ambassador Stevens in his handwriting. We came upon the journal through our reporting and notified the family. At their request, we returned that journal to them.”

If they don’t even boost security on 9-11 in the heart of muslim extremist territory than what the hell good are they?

The Obama regime are incompetent fools.

On Wednesday’s AC360, Anderson Cooper reported Stevens was worried about never-ending security threats, the rise in Islamic extremism, and being included on an Al Qaeda hit list.

That has been reported before so what is wrong with confirming it with his diary?

They were right in reporting it because of the dangers exposed.

Kind of strange how the diary was just lying around for CNN to pick up.

Well, if you saw the video of the "rescue mission" you'd understand how competent our State Dept. really is.

"I think CNN was right to use the Diary. "

I'm surprised the Clintons haven't come out and said Stevens lied to his diary.

As El Rushbo would put it, CNN just committed a random act of journalism. They inadvertently exposed what could have been a major unknown coverup. On their own guy whom they want to win, BTW.

It’s almost a `bring the popcorn’ moment.

What about the sensitive documents that were reported missing after the terrorist attack on the US embassy in Libya ? how come this administration and Hillary are not crying about those documents ?

So true! Some real journalism being done, CNN breaking out of the pack! It is refreshing.

“It was the cover up that eventually caused Nixon to resign from office”

Nixon was a REPUBLICAN...
Those rules don’t apply to DEMOCRATS

What does the State Department's head Hillary Clinton and N.F.L.'s 2012 replacement referees have in common ?

They are way out of their league and don't know what the heck they are doing.

Indefensible because it indicts the Obama/Clinton State Department.

Heads should roll for that disastrous debacle.

The ends always justify the means, right?

CNN essentially stole someone’s personal property which, at that point, belonged to the person’s heirs. They used that property, without permission, to further their business operation, and once it’s usefulness was played out, they gave it back to the family.

In their estimation, that clears up the criminal aspect of what they did.

And don’t tell me that CNN is suddenly interested in truth and journalistic integrity. They smelled a scoop, and they went for it.

I’m sure Julian Assange would approve.

"CNN essentially stole someone’s personal property..."

Sorry but you assume facts not in evidence.

My wife was in a car wreck recently flipped her SUV and it threw stuff all over the road.

Two months later a highway worker found a bag with an address and name on it and returned it to us. Did he steal it? He found it and took it home and then finally returned it to us after he found a way to contact us.

You have no clue as to the sequence of events. You have no clue if their was even identification on the book. I know for a fact their was no immediate family in the area where they found the book (if it is fact they found it in the rubble) so they had to physically get the book back to the USA.

So you are claiming they stole it yet they returned the item to that family. You have no evidence at all.
