Reince Priebus expressed optimism this morning that Republicans could win the senate in 2012, but warned that the party would not get behind Todd Akin, even if he refused to exit the race.
Were not going to play in Missouri with Todd Akin, I can tell you that, Priebus said on ABCs This Week, adding that it remained to be seen whether he stays in or not. The last day Akin can legally leave the race is Tuesday.

Very well thought out logical response.
so if i state that Akin and his moronic believers in the magic uteri are idiots, I obviously hate conservatives. Did you get past fifth grader?.
Are you aware that he was not endorsed in the primary by the life organizations?
Not when his campaign manager, who is also his wife makes statements like that they are being raped by the GOP.
Akin will win. You’re not in that state and don’t know the people there and you have no clue how the average person thinks. This was not a racial slur or anything so outrageous as to keep people from voting for him. AND on top of that Americans hate the establishment by nature and like the underdog narrative. Watch him win and you cry.
Claire supports Akin. She even ran ads supporting him in the primary.
You’re the liberal coward who went off on the typically tolerant liberal rant about toothless hillbillies. I just noted the fact that you have the liberal fantasy about “restoring” the hetch hetchy. LOL
I’ve read some good things about him, going into his election.
Hopefully, his (very stupid) remarks will not leave him behind.
i suppose you agree with what he said about womens bodies preventing conception from rape.
...try to stop looking foolish and read exactly what he said, and then try and ratchet down the Dr. arrogant knowitall disdain for a conservative who could have said it better... why not support the conservative pro lifer, or are you a pro Abortion Dr?...
ymmv
Mike Steele was RNC chair when the Republicans won the greatest electoral victory they'd had in 70 years.
As I recall you and others demanded Mike not be re-elected ~ that even though he was a WINNER you preferred somebody else ~ a Conservative like Priebus.
Well, you got rid of the winner and you picked up a LOSER ~ Having Priebus on the job is like having one of Obama's butt buddies on the job.
However, just in case you forgot, try this little ditty you wrote in April 2010:
"To: Sub-Driver
Motivated by race? Get real!
We had great hopes for your leadership and many considered that you would right the listing ship that the RNC had become.
As it is, that ship is foundering under your leadership. Is raced a quality of failure? Are we not a very post racial country?
Do you intend to further alienating Republicans who spent years support the RNC and Republican candidates for years, some of us more than 25 years.
Membership and contributions have declined further under your leadership and not from a few who had decided you could possible be the greatest choice of leading, among all other possible candidate, at the time of your ascension to your current post.
Mr. Steele, you are a weak-ass idiot, rudderless and at times appear to be using your post in a rather self serving manner.
Mr. Steele you are the only who arose this morning and while shaving his face, considered the color of your skin.
The rest us never think about the color of your skin.
You however are man of weak character, possessed by an attitude of putting my time in and that is just untenable.
You lack vision, passion and critical thinking required for a leadership position.
Your race aside, you should consider being more introspective and stop white washing your personal failure.
I am still not supporting the RNC and it because of issue such New York 23, were you thought you knew better than the voters who should be supported by RNC apparatus.
Please resign.

That was from your post athttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2486887/posts?page=70
That was April BEFORE the most magnificent electoral comeback in history and the greatest Republican electoral vote in 70 years.
I didn't trust your wisdom thenand I trusst it even less now, but you are right ~ get rid of Priebus. He's already demonstrated himself to be an enemy to Republican and conservative interests, which, all things considered, Mike wasn't!
Boehner secured his position with his dirty deed at the very beginning of the RNC in Tampa.
After we get Obama out...we have to spend the next four years destroying the establishment they are as much of a danger as the current marxist in office.
I absolutely refuse to donate to the GOP because they know how not to spend my money judiciously. They have hit rock bottom and continue to dig.
I will donate to individual campaigns...
I live in Missouri. I don’t think he will win. From people here in MO that I talk to, they see his comments as “if you were raped and get pregnant, you weren’t really raped.”
Regardless of what he said, that is what people think
The GOP-e could've easily sent out their missives and spinners to help Akin with his apology, explaining his position clearly, and pointing to his record which indicates he's a reliable vote against ObaminationCare.
Even though Akin may have less than a silver tongue (say, compared to "Mr. 57-States" or "Mr. My Muslim Religion", not to mention gaffe-a-minute VP Guy), his record shows backbone and character. Wait, backbone and character - no wonder the GOP-E (Mittens, Coulter, et al.) can't stand the guy.
I am sure he is a nice person, but I don’t think he can win. But unless we get credible third party, I will have to vote for this dunderhead.
Just went to akin.org and sent my contribution as promised. His votes on key conservative issues are critical.
Magic uterus? You're the one who sounds like a toothless hillbilly.
What Akin said was once what was taught and promoted. I would rather he not have said it, but that's hardly as bad or as threatening as any random demonrat's view of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and they are the ones who rammed obamacare down our throats.
His pro-life, conservative voting record says more to me than that soundbite ever will, but don't let that chunk of reality stop you and the GOPe from doing your and their best to get rid of him in favor of getting Clair McCaskill re-elected.
So...you're going to vote for obama again, too, right?
That's the focus, Maudeen. We need all the anti-GOP-e and RINO's we can get.
I will donate to individual campaigns...

Yes, that’s what I’ve been doing since the 2004 timeframe. Have had it w/ GOP-e. Which sad to say in WA state...got a whole lot of those boys running the show. Once in awhile we get a good one to run....but it’s been tough here in bluesville. Tough.
So I only donate to indvidual candidates...here and nationally. My only hope is that the ‘red’ states overwhelm the ‘blue’. 2008 was awful. 2010 gave me joy. Got my fingers crossed for 2012.
I’M EDUCATED AND I’M SENDING AKIN A DONATION.
I’M SENDING THE “VOTE FOR MITT” DONATION ENVELOP BACK TELLING THEM THAT, I READ PRIEBUS’S STATMENT AND AM GIVING TO AKIN NOT MITT.
