Yes, there are similarities - except this time only the money comes from abroad, the "raised from birth to be a Communist" happens right here in the U.S. The Soviets did boast that they would destroy this nation from within. And Hollywood sometimes seems to create fictions that are intended to cloak reality; another 1980s film is a good example: WarGames.
