Haven’t seen it , and maybe will never get around to, but anything with Amy Adams AND Clint Eastwood is mighty tempting.
Will see Trouble With The Curve tomorrow or Monday. Might I suggest you take in End of Watch, the new cop movie? Well acted, good story, excellent production. And I really enjoyed the sound track. Recommended.
Saw a short article that it is not meeting expected sales in its limited theater opening.
Checked the movie ticket sales for the Top 100 for Friday Night, but nothing was posted.
Either that means sales were quite poor, or the number of theaters is very small, or the data hasn’t come in yet.
Every Leftist in the MSM and Hollywood is hoping this movie fails.
Might take a while to find out.
I plan to see it. I liked the preview, and also The Onion’s AV Club site gave it a “B.” They’re a pretty lib site (didn’t even bother reviewing “2016”) but their critics are pretty exacting and for them, even a B- means it’s a film well worth seeing.
It got a good review and I think 3.5 stars in our newspaper.
Good movie, saw it last night. Will recommend it to others.
I saw it on Fri afternoon. It was a sweet movie abt an aging father reconnecting with his adult daughter through baseball scouting.
Saw it this afternoon to a theater with about 10 empty seats left in it. Packed house. Was a great film...my friend liked it as well. People were actually clapping in the final 5 mins of it during the “meeting”...lol. A classic scene.
Saw it on Saturday. It was so good I didn’t want it to end. It’s a movie that I’ll buy in DVD and watch over and over.
And no, it does not contain poloitical proselytizing, but it does a great job of illustrating the rift between the elderly, highly competent generation and the younger, computer generation who think that sitting in front of a screen, analyzing statistics, can be as successful as actually observing the subject. At hand.
The movie is a great metaphor of life today, wrapped in a story line that kept me entertained the entire time. Every second was integral to the story, and it was extremely well done.
It is a great movie.
Absolutely Loved it
I have read reviews that panned the film, not because of Eastwood’s acting, but because of poor directing by a neophyte.
My wife and I saw it last night. It was a good movie. No Citizen Kane, but definitely worth the money.
my wife and I saw it and enjoyed it in southeastern PA.
Weekend estimates from BoxOfficeMojo:
End Of Watch: $13 mil
House at the end of The Street: $13 mil
Trouble with the Curve: $12.72 mil
Other than more theaters for Clint, pretty much equal.
I see from the list that after 6 weeks both ParaNorman and the Disney Timothy Green movies have bombed. Dredd 3D is a bomb in even one week.
Biggest profits this year so far are Ted (334% of budget), Avengers (183% of budget), and Dark Knight Rises (77% of budget).
