Republican vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)was not well received at a gathering held by the American Association of Retired Peoples on Friday. After Ryan said the first step to strengthening Medicare is to repeal President Barack Obamas Affordable Care Act, the crowd erupted into boos.
After promising to repeal Obamacare, the crowd jeered. I had a feeling there would be mixed reactions, said Ryan amid the chorus of booing.
It weakens Medicare for todays seniors and puts it at risk for the next generation, said Ryan to more booing.
You may not have heard this side of the story, said Ryan, after detailing the Medicare funds stripped in order to fund the ACA. The law turned Medicare into a piggybank for Obamacare.
You dont have to take my word for it, Ryan said. Ask the chief actuary for the center for Medicare and Medicaid services.

I don’t think Romney want to repeal it, just rename it
AARP=Old Democrats
aarp=American Association of Radical Progressives
These folks have been brain washed by the AARP. I had an animated argument with one of their cool-aid drinkers in the COSTCO parking lot a week ago. She told me she “hoped I would die” because of my “Anyone but Obama” bumper sticker. She was totally unreasonable and would not listen to my side of the argument. Every time I tried to make a point she started screaming. COSTCO security finally had to ask her to leave. I could still her yelling as she drove off.
I started getting their advertisements in the mail right before I turned 50. Their mailings go straight into the trash.
I saw a clip on Fox. Ryan dares to speak to a hostile crowd. This is how you win converts. Jesus didn’t speak to the Saduccees and Pharisees, he went to the tax collectors and prostitutes. Preaching to the choir won’t win you any new votes.
I quit paying dues years ago. Yes, I still get junk but I just toss it in the trash along with all the other junk mail.
It's actually IPAB -- Independent Payment Advisory Board, but you're absolutely right.
Neither my wife or I have joined AARP. We throw their garbage mailers into the trash as soon as we get them. That is, except for the personal information that may be in the mailer. That is shredded.
It is amazing how many elderly people are anxious to put their health decisions and self-worth in the hands of bureaucratic number crunchers who regard them as waste. Their belief that they will receive free healthcare drives them to support their exclusion from the system.
Well hey...
The day will come when the federal govt. will decide that their hip replacement is too expensive.
then the joke will be on them!
HO HO HO!
I ended my membership with AAARP years ago once I found out they were in cahoots with the RATs.
Thanks for the correction ;)
One bright spot.
Alinsky tactics penetrate AARP.
These are geriatric Marxists orchestrated by the Bill Ayres/Vallerie Jarrett crowd and we can expect more of the same until Obama improves his poll numbers, but it isn’t working yet and it’s getting very late.
Security of Ryan better be greater than for the late ambassador.
“Hold on there youngun. I am an OLD GEEZER, and I would sacrifice ANYTHING for the future of your and my grandchildrens future.
From some of the Polling charts I have seen, it looks to me like it will be the “silver haired voters” that will put Romney over the top.”
The tea party is filled with those of us who feel the same way. Why would anyone think the problem is old people? The problem is AARP. They are no better than community organizers handing out discounts and over charging for their insurance products. Their members have been bought off for a cheaper motel rate and an “I belong to something.” card.
I followed the link to AMAC and I could not find how much the membership costs or where to sign up???
Thank you for pointing this out. I turned 50 in January and have been receiving AARP stuff. I have been ignoring it.
MFO
They think its out of date. We think it is the greatest document ever devised by man for the governance of man.
They are for more government. We think there is too much government and wasted spending.
They are scaring older people to get members. AMAC has brought to Congress a solution to keep Social Security Solvent!
They pushed for it and stand to gain millions from their insurance sales. We know it will result in rationing and are fighting to repeal it.
They are ignoring it. We are pushing to reduce spending, cut departments and getting our fiscal house in order.
They are part of the Liberal Media. AMAC publishes a national magazine that prints both sides of an argument in a fair and balanced way.
I'm surprissed Eric Holder hasn't "investigated" the AMAC yet. Sound like a national security threat.[/sarc]
enjoy your death panels you leftists old sheeple.
I used to do the same thing until some FREEPER here suggested filling the mailer with some sort of heavy objects and returning it to them so that they have to pay for the return postage.
I've been filling the mailer with old metal washers that I get from a friend who repairs cars. He gives me all of the old washers and I store them until I need to "respond" to AARP mailings. It's very satisfying ...
