I think this 47% stuff is just the tip of the iceberg. Went to the motherjones site and they claim to have a tape of Romney saying that if there was another Iran type hostage crisis, he would take advantage of it for political gain. And they claim to have other tapes. It's amazing republicans win any elections with this pack of media vultures perpetually on their heels (and infiltrating their meetings in order to gather more data to electronically mutilate). The nazi propagandists would be put to shame by the national legion of Obama Cultists who pretend to be reporters.
To: Uncle Chip
Social conservatism cuts a swath through that 47% that he claims he cannot reach. But he has shunned social conservatism. Not sure that's true. Wouldn't most people choose bread on the table over ideology?

The first debate has to be the turning point.
Anyone who is depending on the debate to put Mittens in the lead, probably also were depending on SCOTUS knocking Obamacare out of the ring. We all know how that worked out with the "Conservative leaning" Roberts.
We are so screwed with this flawed candidate.................get your affairs in order for the "Newly TRANSFORMED America."

Can someone please explain to me what is so shocking about what he said on that tape? I didn't hear a single thing that wasn't true.
Is there a victim mentality among a large percentage of people in this country? Yes -and we can point to the Justice Brothers, ACORN, La Raza, GLAAD and all the other "victim coalitions" and thank them for it. They've only been fostering it for 40+ years and they've finally been successful. I would only argue that it's more than 47%. Look to the Tides Foundation, Annenberg, etc. to see who has been funding this rabble-rousing for all these years. Victimhood is big, big business.

The reason the first debate is paramount is it is the best chance to in front of a National Audience to blow up the propaganda machine's narrative.
He has to be controversial, polite and bombastic all at once.
He must speak the simple truth without any double talk.
In plain English, he needs to call a spade a spade, a heart a heart, a club a club, and a diamond a diamond.
He needs to learn how to intone. He needs to replicate Ronald Reagan.
Above all, he must attack the regime and include the media, siting examples of the obvious bias against him
Americans love underdogs that work hard against unfair advantages.

That is great response.
But what Romney needs to do is to get some instruction from Newt about how to attack the moderators who pose the trick questions, and make people laugh at them for doing so. That was Newt's best quality and why we knew he would beat Obama in the debates. Mitt needs some Newt channeled to him.

“People should also start drawing an analogy between this and the missing 18 1/2 minutes in the Nixon Watergate tapes.”
The difference is that the sentiment was that Nixon didn’t want us to hear what was omitted from the Watergate tapes, because it was criminal, whereas here, it would be (what?) exculpatory?

Romney needs an I paid for this microphone moment to show he has some fire in his belly and some balls. He will certainly have ample opportunity for that in the debates.

The media, including FOX, are completing ignoring this revelation. This was a set-up from the get go. A months old video, selectively edited, then released to a pre-planned assault by the media and Dems. Although Fox is defending Romney on the substance of his remarks, they are ignoring the bigger story - media complicity with the Obama campaign. This has gone way beyond mere bias - the networks are now an adjunct of the Democratic campaign machine.
To: traditional1
“Selectively edited, most-likely, for MAXIMUM Obamabot effect, and taken out of context in an illegal taping of his remarks.”
I had the feeling that a lot of people agreed with his remarks. What would you think would have been a proper context to make them more agreeable?
