Asked what he thought of Romney's remarks, Ryan told the Nevada station: "He was obviously inarticulate in making this point." Ryan went on to say the point the Republicans are making is that, under the Obama economy, government dependency is up and economic stagnation is up.
Asked if he thought Romney regrets the remarks, Ryan says he thinks Romney would have said it differently, adding, "that's for sure."
STOP APOLOGIZING, MAN UP AND STAND BY YOUR COMMENTS, DAMMIT!
Awful thing to say..they should be drawing lines ...If we had jobs we wouldnt need gov assistance...If we had jobs I could feed my own kid. If we had jobs I could help my kids to a better future..Romney means more Jobs..that sort of thing. someone told me”I’m on ss and I’m not an entitlement”
How to take a GREAT speech line and stomp it into the ground until dead 101!
Prime material for a Campaign ad.
Paul Ryan said WHAT??
What is WRONG with so many Conservatives when it comes to just OPENLY EMBRACING and DEFENDING Limited Government and a free market for free people?
They need to just DO it, and stop being such pusillanimous WIMPS!
Oh Paul; say it ain’t so. What was so dang inarticulate? Ryan should have said: “He told the truth. The line is drawn in the sand. Now, let’s have the debate and let America decide.”
I’m disappointed in Paul Ryan.
Politico.
Disregard...
Romney himself said it was not well put.
Now YOU are stomping on Paul Ryan for saying same.
The “47% who don’t pay taxes will vote Obama no matter what and see themselves as victims and entitled” is the part that is mistakenly put.
The principle is correct...too many are dependent on government and that is where Obama wants them and his policies reveal that and cause that.
I agree with Romney/Ryan on that part.
I disagree that everyone - equalling the 47% who don’t pay income taxes - who receives something from the government, is as Romney appeared to be describing.
He needs to flesh out who he means. He can’t mean government retirees, or those receiving medicare, social security retirement, unemployment if indeed they have tried and tried and could not find work or working but too poor to pay taxes etc...but the enemy within is now in full throttle to convince Americans that is exactly what he meant.
A caller to C-Span (I couldn’t stand to hear the rest of the callers, it was all so vile and filled with lies based on the full-video-release perceptions) said if Romney is elected, it’s over, we’re done, he will take my medicare, he will take everything. C-Span had just got through airing the entire thing.
The principle that Romney enunciated was great.
He got lost in the weeds some on the details he claimed, and he lost some of the truth in what he was trying to say.
Both he and Ryan are admitting it.
But I knew it when I first heard his exact wording...I knew what he meant, but something was OFF.
See post #10.
Please don’t attack Paul Ryan. Try to HEAR what he is saying.
Mitt said the same, already.
They are telling the truth. The devil was in Mitt’s details. His principle was correct.
What Romney said was spot on accurate and the ONLY reason it is an issue is so 0bama doesn't have to dwelle on the murdering of Americans overseas and he is getting away with it via the MSM.
Byron York: “Salena Zito, a reporter with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, watched Mitt Romneys Sept. 12 news conference from a diner in Wisconsin. Customers paid careful attention to the TV as reporters repeatedly asked Romney if he had made a mistake by criticizing President Barack Obamas handling of the embassy crises in Egypt and Libya. The exchanges left no doubt that Romneys questioners thought he had made a mess of the situation.
But Zito found an entirely different reaction in the diner. People were just floored by the press, she says. The group was pretty mixed between Obama supporters and Romney supporters, and even the Obama supporters were astonished by how they felt the press was driving the story. One guy said, My god, six out of seven questions were the same question. Another guy said, Why arent they asking him anything serious?.................

One of the few times Romney grows a pair and we're gonna back right down from it.
Because my social security benefits are not taxable and the earned interest income off my savings are below taxable levels, I don't pay taxes.
There are a lot of retired people who don't pay income tax or pay a relatively small amount of income tax on interest income who will be in a world of hurt when Romney and the GOP start taxing SS benefits.
Again, Romney himself said it was not well stated in order to show what he actually meant to say.
Ryan said the same thing.
THEY are telling the truth.
Romney stated a principle that was correct.
He mislabeled an exact figure...the 47% who don’t pay income taxes...as people who all think they are victims and are entitled.
That is NOT correct, and he is being stomped on for saying it.
The working poor are too poor to pay income taxes under the current income tax rates and rules. That isn’t their fault, they didn’t set the rates and rules. They are stuck in low income jobs for whatever reason.
Those receiving social security retirement, medicaid, etc, are receiving a government benefit for which they paid in. Yes we know their payments didn’t cover the amount they are receiving, but they paid and paid and paid, nevertheless, and they have built their lives around these programs. Without them they are dead.
Those who receive unemployment who truly cannot find work while trying their best cannot be lumped in with “victims and entitled and will vote Obama”.
Mitt needlessly insulted and mislabeled a lot of people when he mistakenly put it that way, claiming that a hard and fast number of people who don’t pay income taxes are all Obama supporters and all feel they are victims and entitled.
They need to admit that, and they have admitted it.
YOu, on the other hand, won’t even read it or hear it, even if it comes from THEM, and you won’t even think about it, you just yell that they must not apologize.
Like that will fix the mistaken way Mitt put it.
Well, it hasn’t and it won’t.
They CAN fix it by showing that the principle of what Mitt was trying to say is true, because most people realize that too many people ARE dependent on the government when they wouldn’t have to be if they had a different mindset and if the Democrats didn’t have such awful policies that are meant to trap people into dependency.
The Democrats are ruining the economy, then they turn around and say, only WE can save you from ruin.
That is their approach. And they don’t even care that we are going bankrupt. As long as they are in power, they don’t care about ANYTHING else.
The irony of Romney claiming to his rich donors that the same 47% that pay no Fed income taxes are the same 47% who will never vote for him is that he was calling Paul Ryan's Mom a moocher after Ryan's dramatic speech saying that he loves his mom so much that he doesnt care how much her entitlments bankrupt the country (OK< paraphrasing that last one LOL.)
Does Romney pay Federal Income Taxes himself? I thought he pays the lower capital gains tax rates.
This is what happens when you put up an empty suit Grover...
Then they can be principled and get eaten alive by the MSM and lose the election because THAT is what will happen with the constant apologizing going on.
What Romney/Ryan say wrongly and apologise for: "Roars of discussion"
0bama's dismal record as POTUS in the last 4 years: "crickets"
