House Republicans pass bill funding Planned Parenthood, Obamacare
Catholic Online ^ | 9-18-2012 | Catholic Online

Bill requires all health plans to cover contraceptives, sterilizations A $1.047 trillion bill funding the federal government through March 2013 has been passed by House Republicans. The bill includes the regulation that took effect on August 1 that will require virtually all health plans in the U.S. to cover, without fees or co-pay, sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives -- including those that induce abortions. LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The vote passed by a wide margin of 329-91. The bill now goes to the Senate for expected approval next week. The bill also funds the government for six months into the new fiscal year and for almost five months after the November elections. Congress turned to the stop-gap measure after failing to pass any of the 12 appropriation bills necessary to fund day-to-day government operations. Declared unanimously as an "unjust and illegal mandate" by the bishops of the United States, the body declared the Obamacare sterilization-contraception-abortifacient regulation one that violates the right to free exercise of religion -- not only of Catholic institutions, but also of Catholic business owners and workers. The bill does not prohibit funding for either Obamacare programs or Planned Parenthood, nor does it stop the government from enforcing regulations, such as the mandate from the Health and Human Services Department that nearly all health insurance plans provide contraceptives, sterilizations and abortion-inducing drugs free of charge. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), described the health insurance mandate as an "unambiguous attack on religious freedom in our country" and a violation of the First Amendment protecting the free exercise of religion. Boehner supports the CR along with the GOP House leadership.

I asked a question. How do you hold a liberals feet to the fire when the Republicans are acting like liberals.
How do you not see that as a question?
If you do not have answer fine. It is still a valid question.

No, I wrote JR.
If you are addressing something to a non person, it is not sent because an error message appears to correct the name.
The message went where it was supported to go, with no error message.

I think the answer is philosophical and so it does not happen overnight.

The fact is that they work for us.

We hod Republican’s feet to the fire if they claim to work for conservatives in their platform. And work with those who are hoding true to their campaign promises.

Or give up.

But they work for us. That’s just a fact until our constitution is officially channged

Hold that thought....it’s fact.

And this is the guy and party you are now supporting...; sent to "JR", addressed with 'you', all a 'non-person.

So very interesting.

If you address a reply to a person who does not exists you receive an error message, as I said before, I received no error message, so the message went to whom it was intended.
Not quite sure why you are confused by that explication, actually doesn’t matter, it went to where I intended.

Inside the DC Beltway the “Two Party System” means something completely different from what most of us peons and peasants in Flyover Country have assumed for years....

This is NOT a bill, it's a continuuing resolution.

If the Pubbies were to not pass this resolution, they would be demogogued from now until election day as heartless, cruel, obstinate and foolish, and lose most everything. It has nothing to do with the fight on abortion, planned parenthood or Obamacare.

I understand how stupid conservatives can sometimes be, but this takes the cake.

The true battles begin IF Bambi is evicted and IF we win the senate, until then nothing can happen with these things.

That everyone on this thread is chucking it all away is just what the media and the dems want. Congrats to all the Axelrod conservatives here.

Do you really think Paul Ryan would vote to fund Obamacare, or Planned Parenthood if he thought it mattered? Do you really think we would hear nothing about this from Rush, Hannity, Levin or others if it mattered?

Good grief.

I agree that the battle begins, again, this November.

Having said that though, I don’t agree with the Republicans AND the Tea Party voting to fund Obamacare (or Planned Parenthood). They already knew that a majority of Americans were against Obamacare, were outraged with Roberts, and that businesses are not hiring because of the fear Obamacare will have on their taxes.

They should have voted NO.

They didn't "vote to fund" Obamacare or Planned Parenthood. They voted to not shut down the government, and as a result all funding stays.

Sorry, the articles on this are misleading, it's why there is no genuine outrage in the conservative world at all. It's only the Axelrod conservatives that are pissing and moaning about it as if it matters, just like the MSM wanted.

It's called dispiriting the opponent so they won't vote. Look at this thread to see how well it's working.

The Axelrod conservatives strike again.......

When or if they have an opportunity to actually defund these things, and if Ryan, West, Bachmann and the other conservatives don't vote to do so, then you will find me caterwauling to the heavens and calling for the scalps of the GOPe. Until they actually do that kind of wrong voting, I'm not joining in with the maroon crowd here. They're too covered with Axelrod's slime to make we want to join in.

Okay. We shall see. I hope they do the right thing, though I’m not terribly optimistic given the spineless party’s track record, if you know what I mean.

I do.

If we manage to win, then the R officials who represent us screw the pooch with Obamacare and the abortion funding, it will seal their coffin and I'll be right there nailing it shut.

I've got nails, but here's the deal:

If Romney deserts his base in those two matters, he'll fail, plus be primaried or marked as a loser like GHW Bush.

He makes mistakes like everyone, but he's not stupid.

If he is, remind me and let me borrow your hammer....

:-)

That being said, he WILL disappoint us, guaranteed, and maybe a lot. I can handle disappointment, but not total betrayal.
