Yes, as I said, I've read that statement, and the point I'm trying to get across to you is that "specifics matter". WHAT XRF, WHAT excitation wavelength, WHAT detector. All of these bear on whether or not detection is possible. The physics of radiation say that "some" level of the x-radiation will pass into and even through the bar. The question is "how much".

The specific XRF device may not have been the correct one needed. The bottom line is that we know ONE TEST failed. Nothing more.
