—”In response to Romney’s comments, there are some in the 47% who will look in the mirror, not like what they see, and step over the line to join the 53%. They’ll be motivated by shame and anger and a desire to better themselves.”-—

Yes, but my view is that unless you see yourself as an Obama voter with a 0% chance of changing your vote, you’re not going to see yourself in that 47% number. Whether it’s actually 47% doesn’t matter. Romney could put whatever number he wanted on it. It isn’t just who pays income taxes or who doesn’t. Romney’s specifically talking about Obama voters who simply can’t have their mind changed. No independent, moderate or swing voter hears that and says,”Romney’s talking about me.”

I could easily see swing voters trying to prove the point that they’re in the 53% (and NOT associated with gov’t dependency) by making the decision to vote for Romney.

Associating unwaverable Obama voters with people who just want to keep the gravy train rolling doesn’t cost you any votes. If those people are insulted, it doesn’t matter - Romney’s not getting them anyway.

Great reply,

My concern is how a large part of the Independents will see this:

1. Racist
2. Heartless
3. Envious

And then there are those who FEEL guilty.

The MSM will play all the angles.

I would like Mitt to hold his ground and push the narrative to the Socialist vs. Free market argument.
