Yes, so all this hand wringing about polls is simply uncalled for.

It is normal for the Democrats to have a large lead in Sept and the GOP to close the gap in Oct.

As it is, the virtual tie in the polls shows that the GOP is really ahead since they save their ad's for the end of the campaign.
