If Libyans thought life under Gaddafi was oppressive, just wait to see what is in store for them. Women will go back to being little more chattle but we’ll hear nothing about this socalled “war on women”. Conservative women and women who are truly oppressed in Islamist countries don’t count.

As I always said killing Saddam was opening a Pandora box for muslim world.
Brutal socialist dictatorship is a single proven way of their at least somehow civilized existance.
Personal cult and extreme brutality on part of dictator is an important part of control over cut throat population.
They must see you as a God who is ready to punish the most extreme haters.
But images of dirty humiliated Saddam taken out of basement and executed a bit later ruined conception of civilization in ME. He wasn’t looking like a God at the time so cut throats are now on their own. They think “screw dictator, we “can do” it” (screw goats and children, kill infidels, rob neighbors etc).
That is an effect of rodents who lost respect to a cat.
