When I had a consulting company, my retained search division - I instructed my employees to 1. Any resume from Harvard etc, or 2, from Lawyers went into the Round file. The ego’s from those folks would destroy any organization. I like folks who knew what the word “WORK” means.

In my previous life I held a position with hiring responsibility. I had pretty good track record hiring people who at some time had waited tables. They understood customer service as well as the notion that the harder they worked the more they made.

Thank you for not extending your views to Yale men.

Please consider that many Ivy Leaguers are (a) very hard working, for my friend, that is how they got there in the first place. and (b) IF they worked their way through ... and worked their way through the "core curriculum" ... rather than spend pater's money on the choose--it-yourself course plan, they are apt to know one hell of a lot more than the average low-SAT guy, like our POTUS who never took a real course in his academic life. Look for real science, real math, real economics, real history on that transcript. Above all, look for drop-dead fluency in foreign languages. That's the preppy you are looking for, not some Obama with an alligator on his shirt.

In fact, you ought to have considered hiring a couple of these real Ivy Leaguers to screen those résumés, perhaps you would not have had to waste so much of your valuable time as in "I instructed my employees to....etc. etc."
