No, what Romney did was weak, very weak. He criticized the embassy and said he agreed with the President’s decision to walk it back. Not going to cut in Mitt. He needs to tie the events directly to Obama’s policies. Cheney is more credible on this because he’s being saying that Obama is wrong all along but Romney should still do it
“He criticized the embassy and said he agreed with the Presidents decision to walk it back. “
Romney criticized the Cairo statement first, BEFORE Obama walked it back. Of course Romney should say that Obama did something right if Obama ended up to his position. Media is in a frenzy to get Romney so are spewing a lot of FUD; you are mistakenly buying into the media distorted timeline.
Romney led, Obama followed.
It’s stronger to stick to a basic statement that you hold to, and that is what Romney did. Romney did very well weathering a gang-land-style drive-by media hit and standing firm against it. His advisor Williamson likewise did very well against a CNN interviewer that was over-the-top obnoxious towards Romney.
Romney shouldnt over-state things without developing a wider critique in a substantive speech. More can be said in due course.
Obamas Muslim outreach fails! The Arab world is ablaze with anti-American riots! US diplomats are slaughtered! And Romney is the foreign policy bungler?
