I lived through it. Of course he put them at risk. But I am comparing the situation as it exists today to that which existed once the hostages were taken. You are comparing situations upstream. I still think this one is worse, since Obama is directly responsible for the regime change in Libya, whereas Carter just stood by while things happened in Tehran. So we disagree.
I admit Carter screwed up with the Shah but at least he tried to rescue the hostages, if I had to grade, that one small point would put him ahead of Obama. I often wonder as an alternate history buff, what if the Ayatolla “had a cap busted in him” by somebody prior to 1978, how different the world would be.
” Carter put those hostages at risk when he stabbed the Shah of Iran in the back and called the Assahollah Khomeini ‘a godly man’, precipitating the seizure of Iran by Islamic terrorists.”
It hurts to recall how dangerously STUPID Carter was. Carter was stopped by Reagan, and our people were released. Now we must stop Obama, who is far worse.
