They DID get an apology, the fact that they took down their tweet and DC apologized for the apology means nothing.
And, frankly, it disturbs me that an embassy would say anything to anyone via any method that was not OK’d by the administration. Behavior like that is a recipe for disaster. OMG, esp. in a place like Egypt.

Absolutely, and it started with the NONE response by Reagan when our 1/8 Marines were murdered and unable to protect themselves in Lebanon. Ever since then, they knew they had allies within Washington.
The rats in Libya have already scattered and our Egyptian "allies" will deal with the miscreants there. Seems like Obama's opportunity for a tough response is limited.
Obama created this situation. He owns it. Whether it resulted from a naive approach to Muslim affairs or from deliberate connivance, the buck stops with him. And he looks like a fool.
