And we've had 'leaders' in other areas say that cutting welfare benefits would bring rioting in the streets. If we think about it, we probably have several areas where taking some action others don't like might bring a violent reaction. And if we ever enforced immigration law, that would likely be another flash point.

Anarchy will result if we begin making policy based on whether or not some group might protest, and we're definitely headed in that direction.
