While the moral and sophisticated sit around discussing nuances and asking “are there alternatives? is it time yet, Claire?”, the crazies plow ahead with full intention of starting the inevitable fight. The former need to realize this and plan accordingly.

I am just saying that for Muslims the Koran is only the Koran when it is in Arabic.

Guess I stirred up a hornet’s nest last nite. I came home and saw this thread and had not watched TV and didn’t really get what was going on. My first thought was of John Brown and how he sparked the Civil War. My thought was that with his Koran burning threat and now a video of Mohammed as the devil hanging could spark another war in the powder keg of the Arab spring. Not necessarily blaming him for the reactions of the muslims. Just that it’s a given they will always react with violence. After they murdered our ambassador, I think we need to have a hot war in Egypt/Libya.

I heard initially that it was a film being produced in the US by a Dutch/Arab director who is the younger brother of somebody in Hamas. But regardless, this attack wasn’t organized in 15 minutes, and I would suspect that the anti-Islam story is just to cover up the real motivation , which is a 9/11 commemoration Islamic style.
There are apparently two separate films... this one by the pastor that Allen and Petreaus were trying to shut up for burning Korans, and then the one that was hashed together and dubbed that was done by Nikoula [sp] the palestinian guy and was called "Innocence of Muslims." That one got all the news coverage which may be what it was designed to do... to distract from this one by the pastor, which was probably deemed more offensive to muslims than the Nikoula one. It worked, no one's since heard of this film. Come to think of it, no one's heard from the pastor, either.
