This totally contradicts the author's premise. If the 28 pages were classified to protect the Saudis, why would Prince Faisal want them declassified? More likely they contain info about our intelligence activities in Saudi Arabia that we would prefer not be known.

Fair point. But if I remember correctly, many commentators at the time described Faisal’s visit as contrived. Michelle Malkin would call it Kabuki Theater.
