... Obamas re-election campaign and supporting committees brought in more than $114 million last month the first time the incumbent has outraised his opponent, Gov. Mitt Romney, since April.
Obamas Campaign Manager Jim Messina announced the figure for August late Sunday night.
Romneys campaign brought in $111 million last month.

your stimulus money at work......along with foreign “donations” meant to weaken and help destroy the United States.
money dem get are simply tax dollars
There are still the debates...
Ha ha ha yeeesh.
I’m not concerned at this point..if people are complicit in contributing to his campaign, I hope they go broke someday.
If what Romney’s kids and associates say is true, Romney knows how to stretch a buck and will manage campaign dollars wisely. I am a little concerned when I read there are some states they’re not spending in because they’re in the column for 0bama. Just don’t pull out too soon here in Pa. ;-)
Nevertheless, if Romney cannot show some real strength very soon it will put tremendous pressure on him to outperform Obama in the debates. That is not a good place to be.
I believe that laying back and letting Obama set the agenda up until Republican convention was a big mistake. I believe that conducting the Republican convention as an affirmative cheerleading session for Romney depicting him as a good person rather than attacking Obama as a far left Alinsky style radical was a mistake. I posted at the time that I was fully aware that Romney has the very best focus group information and polling data that money can buy.
However, unless there is something in that data that shows that the situation is temporary, I think Romney had better rethink his campaign strategy from bottom to top. I have said since before the election in 2008 that the only way to defeat Obama is to morally destroy him. Romney has shown no fastidiousness in destroying his primary opponents. I do not believe that Obama's race warrants such careful handling now.
I suppose long after the election we will be apprised by one of the insiders about what the data shows why Romney has persisted in this course. Please note, this is a course in which Romney must fill the inside straight and as the clock ticks his ability to win every indispensable battleground state must be weakened.
Yes, and Romney will do well. But there are so few undecided and the Koolaid drinkers won't be dissuaded no matter how poorly the Usurper performs. Not saying Romney can't or won't win election, just think conventional norms, including winning debates, don't apply as much as in the past.
As you said, the polls might simply reflect the convention bounce. Republicans were in disadvantage when their convention fell under the shadow of Isaac, so people's attention was not there yet. When they started to pay attention, the media bombarded the wire with DNC.
There are a lot to be done, but no reason to be panic. Yet.
Romney needs the single silver bullet killer attack ad then.
There is still the economy, to which he proposes to blame Bush.
No single silver bullet. Death of a thousand cuts. Substantive, factual, and devastating each one, and start running a second one right as he’s finally responding to the first, and so on. Keep him on the defensive, keep him reacting, keep him off balance. Obama himself will give us a Wellstone moment.
Well, I’m not that surprised. I always figured the “Oh, poor me, Romney is getting all that SuperPac money” shtick was just that, shtick. It’s a little troubling, but I figure the difference now is the big money Democrats who were holding back are throwing in now that it’s getting close to the election.
At any rate, I don’t think it’s a major issue yet. It certainly isn’t heartening news, but I’ve long felt this was going be a tough, close race. If Obama’s “bounce” lasts more than the next few days, Romney has his work cut out for him. I think R/R are up to the challenge, though.
I had hopes that Romney had had enough sand kicked in his face following the steel plant worker cancer slander. Sadly, the 98 lb. weakling has returned. Referring to a man whose campaign vilifies and slanders you, your family and your party on a daily basis, whose policies tear asunder the very foundations of our country as a "nice guy" is a road to certain defeat ...
Romney has brought a pillow to a machete fight.
With the Moderators being who they are,it will Be Romneys final Nail in his Coffin.
We have a winner! They needed plenty of time to figure out how to phony up the numbers, just as when RAT counties hold off reporting their vote totals till well after all the other countries report.
The case against obama is too complex for most voters to understand. It comes down to off-shoring jobs, debasing the currency, piling on loads of debt. Yet most people in this country are employed, don’t even know the currency is debase, and are in fact up to their own eyeballs in debt. I guess Romney could just come out and say “Hoard cash and buy metals”. But that’s not much of a campaign pitch. Let’s face it: the Dems have bought off most of the country and while they’re about to get butchered, most voters are still wallowing in government cash like pigs in slop.
This is the only strategy against Obama.
(I now return you to the latest Romney is failing Chicken Little thread.)
“The first liar doesn’t stand a chance”
I’m getting a sick feeling feeling that the lazy “takers” will re-elect the communist and America falls forever into a marxist-mooselum black hole.
I am to the point where I don’t give a rats’ behind anymore. Whatever happens, happens. I am clinging to my Bible and contemplating to get a gun.
