This is the presidents biggest lead over Romney among Likely Voters since March 17. See daily tracking history. Obamas convention bounce is evident both in the head-to-head numbers with Romney and in his Job Approval ratings (see below).
The president has made significant gains among voters aged 40-64. Platinum Members can see demographic breakdowns and additional information from the tracking poll on a daily basis.
The presidents bounce began the night after Bill Clinton spoke to the convention and received rave reviews. Sixty-six percent (66%) of voters nationwide have a favorable opinion of the former president. Democrats overwhelmingly believe Clinton and Obama have similar views on how to fix the economy, but few Republicans and unaffiliated voters share that assessment. Among all voters, 59% see Clinton as a better president, while 19% prefer Obama. Democrats are evenly divided. (see the rest at link)

Good then you won’t mind people exercising their 1st amendment rights, with out your going all Alinsky-ite. I agree to disagree with you, without any more of your ad hominem attacks.
I think a lot of it might be fear, I really dont know what I would say if one of these pollsters called my house, I would be thinking “These people know where I live.”
This must be the 16th time I’ve seen this poll posted on FR.
A lot of people on food stamps won’t bother voting. Just like most welfare recipients don’t vote.
The bounce the Dems got was to be expected; it will probably last through next week.
They can’t escape the bad unemployment news. What they’re (and the media) are trying to do now is to get Republicans dispirited, by turning them against Romney, or making them think there’s no way Obama can lose.
Don’t be fooled.
This bounce will subside by the end of this week and it will be 47-47
Is it possible that Romney/Ryan and the RNC just blew it? They had a terrific chance with the convention, but even conservative sources are noting that the RNC convention was a bit of a dud in comparison.
Both the conventions are circuses and we taxpayers get billed for $50 million for each of them. How about we stand up and tell both parties to pay for their own da*n conventions? No more taxpayer-paid conventions for any party. Period.
Um, well, Willard is NOT Reagan.
In fact, Willard is pretty much the anti-Reagan. But that’s JMO.
I dont think some here quite appreciate the disaster that is Mitt Romney.
IMO, there is no getting around the disaster that Willard is...win or lose....he’s an unmitigated disaster to the conservative movement. If he loses...OMG...we’ve go O. If he wins...OMG....we’ve got more run away spending. :::sigh::: this is so bad. EPIC.
Im discouraged. This is insane. Even if Clinton was a factor, why was he a positive factor? I dont believe it.
Someone posted the swing state poll and Obama was only ahead by 1 also I think Obama has led in Rasmussen weekend polls before
Can Axelrod media spin and a few slanted polls make you fall for the Media “ Its all Over” strategy so quickly.
The media is hard left and there are no internal being published by Gallup or Reuters for a reason !
Reuters is pushing a phony online poll and Gallup hides its formula and does Not use likely voters anymore but switched to Dem heavy registered for a reason ! Don't be played . That Ras poll has flipped twice on the weekend in August due to weekend polling samples which are notoriously awful polluted by high Dem samples.
Point is polls do not dictate winners months in advance.
I watched the YouTube on NPL; what came to mind was a remark made by Obama in the debt negotiation talks (Bob Woodward’s just released book: “I can convince the American people”. Scary!
We have caller ID with verbal announcement of the caller. My wife and I do not answer if the caller is identified as “Unknown Caller”, “Unavailable”, “Out of Area”, “Private Caller”, a 202, 800, 805, 866 or other area code that we don’t recognize. We have undoubtably ignored several pollster’s calls is the past eight months, but really don’t care. I suspect that most of these polls are oversampling Democrats because they might be less likely to have caller ID and more likely to answer their phone than we and many other Republican voters.
I agree Romney needs to kick it up; however, the mystery to me is Obama isn’t telling people how he’s going to fix it either, except more of the same—the “longer” road now rather than, I can do it my first term.
You nailed it, Sarah! If I get a phone call & the caller ID says “unknown name unknown number” well, first of all I don’t answer it. But there are those naive souls who will & then a voice sez he’s a pollster & who are you voting for?
El Rushbo called it the Doug Wilder factor but IIRC it was about the LA mayoral election with Tom Bradley the black candidate; he lost but the phone polls had him so far ahead that the conclusion was that people called by pollsters were fearful of declaring for Bradley’s opponent for fear of being labeled “racist” and that info somehow entering a permanent database.
If Obama’s ahead in Rasmussen, how does anyone know that’s the result of a lot of false answers from people who will vote for Romney but feel that they dare not say so to an anonymous voice calling them out of the blue?
Answer: nobody knows for sure. My gut says Romney will win, FWIW.
I hope your gut is right
Ive never been polled. I did get a phone call a few months ago from Obama For America(The guy was asking for my Mom since she’s a registered Dem but hasn’t voted Dem since Clinton) he asked me if we were going to vote for Obama, said NO, asked me if we voted for Obama in 2008, said NO, and he said OK and that was it. But actually being polled we have never received any phone calls from Gallop or Rasmussen or any other polling company. I can understand why someone would be afraid to say NO in regards to Obama because they are afraid since these people know where we live and they can pass on that information to other groups.
I just read on facebook about how FAA Employees are being threatened, either vote for Obama or lose your job..this is what a dictatorship looks like people. We have a choice, either live in freedom or live like North Koreans, I hope at the end the American people make the right choice
FR’s panic time never ends...
Romney: answer every irrelevant media question in only one short sentence, then turn them back to the economy: jobs, obamacare, energy, overregulation, debt. There is nothing else.
