Romney wants to unload the mandate yet keep the preexisting condition coverage of Obamacare.I wonder who pays for requiring private insurers to keep the preexisting condition coverage.Healthy insureds will see astronomical premium increases to subsidize the requirement of coverage for the unhealthy at the same premium rates as the healthy. There are no free ponies. Repeal and starting over and not replacement is the only route

Dear chuckee,

“Romney wants to unload the mandate yet keep the preexisting condition coverage of Obamacare.”

There are other ways to cover folks with pre-existing conditions than mandating that all health insurance companies provide guaranteed issue.

I'd like to see President Romney's proposed replacement before I have a fit about it.

There are no free ponies.

Only fewer and more expensive ponies, courtesy of government meddling.

Romneycare was just another medical cost-shifting scheme that failed, while Obamacare is a cost-shifting scheme in combination with a calculated, deliberate hijacking of approximately 1/7 of the US economy by the White House marxist and his crew of central planners.

Our only hope is that Romney and co. have learned some salutary lessons from the Massachusetts mess. We know for sure that in a second Obama term, the economic hijacking will continue to advance at full throttle.

"Repeal and replace" is safer political rhetoric in a close election than threatening to "start over", since many voters favor certain aspects of Obamacare.

The unfortunate choice is between being semi-screwed and completely screwed.
