The phase of the moon is not important and it is best to fly the mission in total darkness.

IR targeting pods and the FLIR are not affected by the moon, and targeting guidance is GPS and does not require any light at all.

Regarding GPS, you’re assuming the Obama Admin doesn’t determine it needs to be taken down for “urgent, unforseen” systems maintenance when the Israeli strike is inbound ...

Well which is it then? If it's best to fly in total darkness then a moonless night IS important. As crosslink pointed out, that window starts to close on the 15th.
